LOTS of Plasma and melta usually works.
If not, I have fun with Storm Bolters and have managed a few times with success with Veteran Guardsmen
It really depends on what you play.

What, just Warriors?
First off, it might help to have a bit more info (what army you use would be a good start... seriously, anything more than a two word opener would have been good).

Mass AP4: 3xHB Exterminators, Manticores, Whirlwinds if you get a lucky shot, Dakkapreds, Lootas, Deathwing Knights in CC, HYMP-sides.

Assault will take them out without a worry, so long as you can get them to break. With I2, they're not outrunning anyone except Orks and Tau; The orks can probably neuter the squad anyway, and Tau shouldn't bother trying, just shoot them.

Just about everything kills them. Theyre only a 4+. Everything either pens the armor or spams so many shots it might as well pen the armor. Thats the same issue my firewarriors have.

Depends on how many there are. Blobs of 20 with orb lord and ghost ark support are best dealt with by assault units. Any initiative based attack (like sweeping) is bad news for crons.

Charge! Nah, I am just kidding you.

Tau deal with Necrons as they deal with every other threat, a liberal application of Missile Pods and Marker Lights with Riptide support if needed. Seriously Tau fire power is ridiculous.

The first time my friend and I had a mini tutorial on how to play, he brought his Necron Warriors in a big blob. Foot slogging the little Arnolds around I had taken a Defiler for gaks and giggles. He lost every single one of them on a direct hit from my Pie Plate. He was put off the hobby for another 2 months.

One of the few things that heavy bolters are worth their points against. Assault cannons are excellent too.
Had a game today where I took my necrons against my mate who took my BA. He took 3 baals with tl assault cannons and hb side sponsoons. Each was reliably taking out 6-7 warriors a turn.
The important thing is, especially with crons, is to focus on units until they are totally gone or their rp rolls will ruin your day.

AP4 weapons are great if you've got enough of them. Assault Cannons/Psycannons/Autocannons (in bulk)/Missile Pods will all whittle them down from range.

However, the way you take down Necron Warriors is to understand how they're fielded and respond appropriately. You need to focus fire on individual units instead of spreading it around. Destroyed units don't get to come back with RP, even if their characters do via EL. Under-committing to destroying a 5-man Necron Warrior squad is exactly what the necron player wants you to do. A large blob is in fact quite resilient to most shooting, since you're not that likely to destroy it in a single shooting phase, and thus you've not actually done that much. If it's a blob, there's most likely a Res Orb in the unit, as well as a GA nearby reinforcing it. Other than by killing the GA or sniping out the Lord, the main way to deal with this unit is assault. You get into assault with it, you win combat by 4 or so because they don't have enough attacks to do much against a fast melee squad, making them fail a Ld6 test, they fail the flee with I2, and you run down the whole blob denying them any RP rolls. Using Terrify/Horrify (if you're Eldar) against large warrior blobs also really works well, as the only morale defense Necron Warriors have is Ld10, and a single failure cripples the unit.

Tau have a good time at range because they should outrange Necrons most of the time. Tesla Destructors are only 24".
Marine varieties probably want to assault -- they often don't have the shooting to really put down warrior blobs quickly (other than TFCs), but biker armies can rout them on the charge.
Eldar/DE have enough firepower and range like Tau to also do well. Seer Councils/Beastpacks/Striking Scorpions should easily sweep blobs.

Demolisher Cannons. Make the tinnies weep as you lay down a large pie plate that will not only wipe out the squad but IK any characters that decided to join up.

Otherwise anything AP3 that can hit multiple opponents (Rapid Fire, Blast, etc) will do just fine.

Depends. A good Necron player will support his blobs and a squad of Necron Warriors can be quite a hard enemy for Assault Marines - they simply do not have much to offer for melee despite an additional attack and they have to suffer through both a regular phase of shooting and up to 40 Overwatch shots. On top of that, the Necron (Over)Lord will tear the Assault Marines apart.

You will either face Necron Warrior blobs with Lord support or Necrons in Night Scythes and both aren't good options to assault with Assault Marines.

On the other hand, there certainly are enough players fielding 10 Warriors on foot without support.

I still don't understand why you got problems getting rid of Necron Warriors though. What is the main problem you have confronting them?

Broadsides with High Yield Missile Pods will make quick work of them. Twin Linked, high strength, high rate of fire and they ignore his armor. Can't go wrong. Also, Rip tides with Heavy Burst Cannons, also ignore his armor with AP4, and even higher rate of fire and can get Rending to deal with other targets/tanks.

Mostly any S6 AP4 weapon - high rate of fire or large blasts, preferable.

Watch out for Ghost Arks!
As you're using Tau, DS a Crisis Team filled with Fusion Blasters - even the 13 on Ghost Ark's sides and front won't hold much. A 4 on the penetration table will be suffice to end it! Piranhas with Fusion Blasters are a interesting option as well, if the Necron player pushes his Arks forward.
Markerlights will be important to deny his Jink.
