Which works better in a GW army? I know I want a Librarian in my army, but whether it's Ezekiel or a normal one idk but I want a unique WL.

Azrael imo, is pointless in a RW or DW army so this leaves him in a GW one, but his role is filled more excitingly by Ezekiel to me and more creatively by Asmodai but I don't have him yet.

So what are some pros and cons to both?

Ezekiel is only useful if you want an extra warp charge point, otherwise go with a regular libby. Ezekiels unique power is pretty good though, especially if you throw it onto a close combat character.

Ezekiel's also got a 2+ save without taking TDA. That helps in GW too.

Azrael.

You get to pick which Warlord Trait you want (from the Dark Angel table). He unlocks two additional troops options, freeing up some fast attack and elite slots for other things you might want.

He confers a 4+ invulnerable save on his squad, which is like the power field generator, but doesn't boost enemy models. If you want to do melee he has two additional attacks over Ezekiel at higher strength. He's also more survivable with his Chapter Master profile.

I intend to model the Dark Vengeance Captain as my Azrael. (I have the metal model, but since mine are the Angels of Deliverance, not Dark Angels, a different model is better).

It really depends on what you want to do. If you're going for scoring units and a higher point game, I'd say go for Azreal. The ability to choose from the WL table is awesome, using his leadership is also very nice, and he is excellent and supporting units.
Ezekiel is one of my favorite models and character to play, but like Azreal its based on circumstance. The ability to have 4 psych powers (one for his basic), 2 choices from the same tree, and the automatic primaris is pretty sweet though. However, I find that he's a bit of a point sink with no invol save it does put him at risk if you don't put him in the right squad. He can boost up WS by +1 but he doesn't have anything that makes him do anything more than just support and putting him into combat wouldn't be a wise move which makes me confused as his warlord trait is the hunt...
I think a good question is what do you plan on doing? Are you planning on getting up and close to an opponent? Do you plan on having a supporting unit that stays in the back and gives bonuses? What point game do you have in mind?

At any rate. Happy hunting.

I wanna use a psyker for some range support and general annoyance. Azrael because I made the mistake of buying the model and I told myself when I got into this that I would use every model I bought lol

I like both options and I may try them both and see how it works. Only really used Belial who is awesome

I thought if you picked Azreal HE HAS TO BE YOUR WARLORD. So you don't have a choice I thought.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Big zeke is useful if your going to face lots of mc's. Against nids he can wreck them really badly if he can stay clear of shadows of the warp. He would also be useful against tau and gk for dealing with dreadknights and riptides.

Azreal is better against other opponents. Where taking down those creature isn't so important. Like I know the wraithknight is an mc but its eldar, his wave serpents could be the last thing alive for him as a result of a really brutal 1st turn and he could still kill your army with them, a knight isn't high on my priorities list as a result

DA army: 3500pts,
admech army: 600pts
ravenguard: 565 pts

If your taking combined wing. aka any combination of bikes terminators and regular PA, then you want to take Azreal, not only will it make those TDA and Bikes troops, but lets you pick a warlord trait that will actually be useful for you. (( Like the +1 to reserve rolls.... ))

In an Unbound or ally list, He's begging to be put with a 40 man Guard Platoon, where he makes them a fearless objective holder, with 4+ invul save.

so if your going to be running straight GW I think Your better off going with Ezekiel or a regular Librarian.

I like to say I have two armies: Necrons, and Imperium.....

Honesty I would say don't bother with either of them as your warlord. Granted Ezekiel is ML 3 pysker which is cool. However i think that there is a lot more benefit
to having a company master/chaplain/techmarines kitted out with special gear than what either of them can bring to the table.

Ezekiel cannot have any of upgrade wargear, so he is at a disadvantage imo, true he can take the disciplines in the new rulebook and hope to get one
of the powers from there that could buff him or units. However I think that a normal libby kitted out with the special dark angels war gear is a much better
choice imo. One that can be close combat oriented or even take a bike or JP

The only DA HQ that I use regularly that is named is Belial, given that he is hitting fairly well and with his sword having shred means he is wounding everything on a 2+.
My GW army is being retired as I lost every game just about with them, so I am goin DW and RW... Take a look at just kitting out a Libby with the dark angel wargear he
can take, it will make him stronger than ezekiel.

Can he generate an automatic Primaris? He won't have generated all his powers from one tree, as he comes with one other. Or is this in the FAQ?

Until otherwise stated, the way it's stated is that you get an automatic primaris if you choose all the spells from one tree. As I'm choosing all my spells from one tree then I'd say that I get the primaris.

Compulsory powers don't count against getting the primaris.

More accurately, powers that don't have a Discipline (such as Mind Worm and Force) don't lose you Psychic Focus - if you start the game with discipline powers pre-chosen, you haven't "generated all his powers from the same psychic discipline", so some would argue (see YMDC) that you don't get the Focus.

Neither, Konrad kills them both , sorry, couldn't resist, had a big game this past weekend and Curze took on both of them(and yes I know he was supposed to win costing more than both together). That said Azrael stood up faaar better in combat and actually survived to the second combat round and inflicted a wound on Curze. Was not impressed with DA magic ability despite there being 3 psykers in the command group.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!
