Subject: 30 years later, and still only one answer to "Who you gonna call?"
Damn, do I feel old to realize it's been thirty years today. One of the great movies I grew up with. I remember the first time I watched it, I was scared at the part where the librarian changes into a monster (what can I say, I was only 7), so that when I saw it again a few weeks later, I actually had to step out of the theatre for that scene. Strangely enough, nothing else in the movie scared me.
I did read that Ghostbusters will be seeing a theatrical rerelease later this year. I think I can handle that scene, now.
It was saddening when the news reached us earlier this year of the passing of Harold Ramis. It's sometimes hard to accept that the icons of our childhood do age as we do, and will eventually pass on.

"You listen to me. While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is that I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you Sheriff Truman." - Twin Peaks
