Subject: Tigurius in 7th, overpriced?

Juist wondering if i am misreading something... Tigurius used to be the only model in the space marine codex that could use divination, however according to the reference sheet included with the new psychic cards space marine can use all disciplines, making tigurius a bit overpriced in my opinion.. I know you get. more than that but still...am i missing something?

No, there is no permission in the Codex or FAQ for any Space Marine Psyker outside of Tigerius to gain access to Divination. The cards are not a substitue for the BRB, Codex, or FAQ. It is not in the Codex, FAQ, or BRB, therefore the only SM Psyker with Divination is Tigerius.

Yeah that reference card isn't really useful for anything.
It's says Space Marines can use Divination, but doesn't say who in the codex can use it. In this case it's still just Tigurius.

Sorry, what? The Reference Card tells you which powers are available to each faction, unless C: SM states otherwise, how can you be so sure in the knowledge that only he can use Divination? Not trying to be argumentative or anything, my codex, for example, states that DA can't use anything but Divination, Telepathy, Telekinesis and Pyromancy, but the reference card says I can. Not only that, but it says I can use everything but Biomancy, is this not the case? If so this is grossly annoying.
Just checked codex. Interesting that they cannot use here, but in 7th edition they can.
The question then becomes, does an outdated codex supersede new edition?

Because models in the codex have access to it one way or another.
Just like CSM has access to Divination through a Relic.
The FAQs state if your Psykers' access has changed, and to what disciplines. If your FAQ is silent, your Psykers' access hasn't changed.

well that's easily done.
the reference card tells you that in the space marine codex, there is access to all these powers
in the entry for a librarian, it states what he can take, and doesn't include divination.
in the entry for tigurius, it says what he can take, including divination.
therefore space marines can take divination overall, but no-one except tigurius.
it's a reference section, like the weapon reference section. just because space marines have demolisher cannons listed as one of their weapons doesn't mean anyone can carry one does it?

The reference cards are not the rules. If it does not say in the BRB, Codes: Space Marines, or in an FAQ, they absolutely cannot. Reference cards do not trump those three sources. The reference cards are not part of the rules, they are merely an aid. The cards say Sam has access to Divination, because they do, via Tigerius. Him and him alone. Had they gained access to Divination as a whole it would be included in the SM FAQ, it is not, therefore they have not.

We are so sure because the codex gives Tiberius divination and no one else
Why would a random reference card with a vague list of disciplines replace the very specific rules of the codex?

The card shows what powers are available to the army as a whole.
But to find out what powers are available to the individual model, you need to look to their army entry or FAQ.
For example, the summary card will say Astra Militarum has access to Pyromancy.
This does not mean every Psyker in the codex can take Pyromancy. The Astropath for example has access to Telepathy only.
The card is just saying that someone has access to Pyromancy, but doesn't say who.

Not really - the reference cards are a high level summary of what each army could in theory take. It does have use, just limited.

The cards are correct. Tigurius is a Space Marine. He can use Divination. Therefore Space Marines do have access to Divination. Your assumption was that everyone other than Tigurius can as well.

A side note, if you allow me...
Even if any SM Librarian could take divination now (and, ok, they can not), as a logic consequence Tigurius cost should be correct anyways (he still has what he had), but other librarians would have been underpriced (same cost, and would have had more access).
Fortunately, their discipline access is still the same as before

The Cards are bad anyway.
They couldn't even get the warp charge points correctly copied over from the BRB to the cards for all the powers.

Banishment for Santic on the cards is listed WC 3, when in fact its WC 1 in the BRB. They even put a FAQ out over it.
All the other WC costs match up, but I don't have the willpower to read all the spell effects and see of they match up word for word.
