Hi I've been looking into building a gatorman army for a while and today I picked up bloody Barnabas and a bull snapper with the intent on getting another and about 2 units of gator men. before I make any more purchases though I was wondering what dakka would put in a 35pts gatorman list with barnabas as the caster. I'm set on at least one unit of gatormen but what do people think of bog trogs? is two bull snappers too many? and what heavy's and solos would be good to run along side? answers to any of these would be really helpful

Have you taken a look into Barnabas' Theme Force? Its a pretty fun list at 35 and easily moves into 50.

Bloody Barnabas
- Blackhide Wrastler

Bog Trog Ambushers (Leader and 5 Grunts)
Gatormen Posse (Leader and 2 Grunts)
Gatormen Posse (Leader and 2 Grunts)
Gatormen Posse (Leader and 2 Grunts)
Gatormen Posse (Leader and 2 Grunts)

Gatorman Witch Doctor

As for purchases, if you plan on moving into Maelok, more Bull Snappers are never a bad thing. In terms of heavies, for the most part you'll want one or two Wrastlers and one or two Spitters. At 50 this theme force gets really goofy by spamming Posses and Spitters.

I've dabbled in Gators, I have not played them hardcore. So take my advice with a grain of salt. I'm not a big fan of jawn's list. Min units I am not a fan of especially when they consists of 3 guys. I think Barnabas Tier is best saved until 50pts when you can benefit from the Tier 4. I also am not a huge fan of having only 1 warbeast. A Wrastler alone is not enough to even max out fury every turn and if you run him full fury you can't transfer damage to him. And when he's dead you'll be cutting for fury. So my recommendation is:
Bloody Barnabas
* Bull Snapper
* Blackhide Wrastler
* Ironback Spitter
Gatormen Posse (Leader and 4 Grunts)
Gatormen Posse (Leader and 4 Grunts)
Gatorman Witch Doctor

Or you can kill the Snapper for another Witch Doc or kill the Witch Doc for another snapper or drop one and grab a Totem Hunter or a Croak Hunter and Swamp Bellowers. Personally I would tend to lean away from the Witch Doc, while he is good I think he was made to benefit single wound infantry like Wolves of Orboros or Blood Trackers.

If you really like the idea of more posse you could dump the wrastler for a 3rd posse (for Spitter+2x Snappers), this will limit your armor cracking abilities from the POW 17 bite of the wrastler but his other attacks are a little pillowfisted and at 2 attacks each that jack you want to take down could probably be taken care of by the Posse with their 2 attacks each also Posse would be harder to take down as they can spread out and can attack more targets. Spitter has lower MAT but this is helped by Barnabas' feat, Barnabas may have to get his hands dirty as well and do some armor cracking which is a bit more risky.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd
