Today me and a friend are going to do our own custom mission and such on one of those long brown table you see in office buildings and I had a few questions.
Can objectives be placed in a players deployment zone? I either can't find a ruling on this because it isn't in the book or I overlooked it.
When deploying units, are we free to place them anywhere within this deployment, fairly certain we can on this as this is how I have played most of my games, but my friend seems to think that we measure from table edge a certain distance and go from there?
If this thread is in the wrong place, I apologize in advance, still trying to figure all the forum things out.

Objectives have to be 12" from a table edge and 12" from each other I believe. (Edit: Not 100% sure if it's 12" or 6", don't have the book in front of me)
A unit can be placed anywhere within your own deployment zone, the size of which will vary based on your table and deployment style. Typically it is 12" from the middle line on the table, which will give you a pretty massive area on a long thin table.

I can't find anything that prevents me from putting an objective in a deployment zone

There is nothing to stop you from doing that, they only have to be a certain distance from the table edge and each other. They can be in your deployment, or your opponent's deployment if you'd like.

its 6" from the table edge, 12" from each other.
I believe 7th removed the notation about being in buildings too, making higher up objectives legal (iirc)
