Is anyone excited about all of the new Ork Toyz and Gunz coming out?
I have only been playing for a couple of months and have lots of Boyz, but I have noticed I needed Dakka and Options.
Everything I have seen coming out is exactly that!
Hope the rulez live up to the new models.

I have converted lootas that look a lot like the new Freebooterz. I'm anticipating whether ill be able to keep them as lootas or if I can finally make a good DeffDread Pirate warband

Ha ha snap!
Got nearly a hundred or so boyz painted and about 10 packs of other stuff... realize I need to sort some Kanz and wheelz.
I have gone a bit mad and seem to have acquired about 20 AOBR Deffkoptas for my WaaaghWaffa. I think I got a bit freaked when I saw the model had disappeared from the GW site.
I just hope there are Deffkoptas in the new codex.
Buying without a codex is risky...when I started I stocked up on literally hundreds of old style Grots for my greentide...and when I got the codex I discovered I also needed Runtherds...doh!
Looking forward to codex as much as the models I must admit!

Well if theres no Deffkoptas you can make them into some really styling "hover" bikes, and by hover i mean they barely make if off the ground but a spinning blade makes a great hammer of wrath

Big Mek in Kustom Dragster with Soopa-Gun
|
Unless the rules they released/leaked on that page are a total lie, mek guns are going to be great. I dont see a real valid use for any of the new fancy ones outside the KMKannon, but they look fun to toy with. Bubble chukka seems kinda pointless but theres a certain allure of throwing five pi plates at your opponent.....even if they resolve at Str3 AP4 lol. I might bring them just to see the reaction when i start throwing 5-10 pi plates
However if i were you, i wouldnt mass buy the model itself. Not joking either. Its expensive as holy gak and quite honestly the easiest model to kitbash. Buy one Mek Gun and a Trukk you have the pieces to create 3-4 Mek Gunz right there. Might need to use a pipe somewhere for another large barrel but not like thats hard to find (wide pens work great there fyi. Pull the crap out and saw it to the correct length, bam new barrel)

Warbuggies and Mek Gunz are finally getting added to my Waaagh.
5x Buggies w/ Rokkits
5x Smash Guns
5x Traktor Kannons
Figure 5 outflanking Rokkits might glance a HP or two, block a few sight lanes and generally be a nuisance. Not to mention pretty much guarantee Line Breaker, and may be able to grab objectives in my opponent's deployment zone for Maelstrom of War missions and such.

15 rokkit buggies (15 st8 shots hitting 5/9 of the time),
10 kannons with ammo runts (10 st8 shots hitting 1/2 of the time with 10 rerolls)
15 lootas (average 30 st7 shots hitting 2/3 of the time)
All for just 795pts... that really makes me want to collect orks! I can see why rokkit buggies and mek guns would be added to your waaagghhh!
Get 4 full strength trukk boyz mobz with nob with pk & bp, boarding planks, a bw with a 10man nob squad, 3-4pks, warboss, painboss, big mek and an adl to put the shooty stuff behind. Should have a fair few points spare in a 2k list.
Now what does the opponent shoot?

Lootas hitting 2/3 of the time?
But no, Im avoiding Trukk boyz because they're just not strong enough. Sure, they can charge a good distance, but theyre still hitting at I2 and almost guaranteed to take casualties on the way. They'll be under 10 in no time, and once that happen the unit basically disintegrates. Unless I upgrade em to 'Ard Boyz, which I guess is an option now.
Thinking:
Painboy
Big Mek w/ Bike + KFF
Mek
Mek
Tankbustas x10 w Tankhammers and Squigs in a trukk
MANz x5 (painboy here), Battlewagon
Boyz x20 nob, pk, bosspole
Boyz x20 nob, pk, bosspole
Ardboyz x12, nob, pk, bosspole trukk
Ardboyz x12, nob, pk, bosspole, trukk
Warbikers x10 nob, bosspole, pk
Buggies x5 Rokkits
Blitz Bomma
Battlewagon, maybe a killkannon x2
Mek Gunz w/ all the grots
No idea where that weighs in. Trukks cover the outside of the battlewagons in a wedge shape. Bikers nestle in the cradle until the vehicles get where they need to be. Blitzbomma is purely for fun, buggies outflank and hopefully come in on the side of a vehicle or something. Mek Gunz do what gunz do. Regular Meks probably go with the MANz (to suck a challenge in the face) and the tankbustas (can regular Meks get Bosspoles?)

I was excited, but now I'm a bit meh. All the stuff is useable, but it's seems to be a bit mediocre release, especially codex-wise (although I haven't read the real thing yet!), and the prices are quite high.

Nasty Nob
|
Armorbane Powerklaws
3 HQs then 3 More Meks weilding chainfists
Rampage on the Mad Dok
Characters hiding in every unit
DT's for everyone
Tankbustas got Tankhunter
Waaagh! Energy makes for a excellent defensive Psy point generation with just one obligatory Model.
Nobz got cheaper
Meganobz got better
Waaagh! Move -> Run -> Assault
Stormboyz Move -> 2d6 Run -> Assault
Outflanking Buggies
A day one supplement with all the fun things you might want to do with Kommandos, Stormboyz, BW's you name your favorite ork spam and there are plain and simple rules to put it out there without begging opponents to let you use multiple CAD's or FW.
There just seems like a lot to be excited about, I can't understand the doom and gloom in other threads.

I am the kinda ork that takes his own washing machine apart, puts new bearings in it, then puts it back together, and it still works. |

Easily my favorite model is the new artillery gun kit. It is going to be great to actually have something like that on the ork's side of the table. Used to be the only thing you'd ever see on the ork's side of the board are lootas, but now there may actually be something impressionable to grace the table. I'm talking aesthetics here in case you couldn't tell.

Indeed, the artillery gun kit looks great. As I don't have the codex yet, how useful is this customizable unit?
