Someone made the comment about when was GW's heyday? Back in the mid nineties when all the FLGS's carried their product and you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting someone playing a game in a store. Being able to get said product from online US retailers and having both FLGS and Online guys trying to out do each other with discounts. There were a smattering of Hobby Centers that really didn't have an effect on B&M stores and all was well in my opinion. In some areas of the US the product was hard to get if you weren't online, but that made it that much more desireable. So my vote would be for that era. I was into the games for about 10-12 years at the time and thought it was cool that everyone else was finally catching up. If GW wanted to look attractive for prospective buyers; dump the retail section and liquidate the inventory in the form of a weekend sale. If someone takes over GW they probably will have a plan to seriously decrease the # of HC's (probably just keep the Battle Bunkers) and trash the whole 'european' retail plan here in the US. My .02 USD.
