Everything is allowed in the Gladiator Tournament. Trial rules, everything from forgeworld etc.

Last year my first game had me going up against 2 Warhound Titans.

It is always fun to be intimidating until someone more intimidating comes along... that is why I do not believe in the metagame... there will always be someone more intimidating somewhere.

GBF intimidates me.

My ex-wife intimidates me, but I haven't met a 40K player yet who does. I've met several players who's skill I respect, and a few jerks who I would rather not play again. But on the whole I'm perfectly at home with other 40K fanatics. I'm chompin at the bit to hit all three days of tournaments. I know I'll be brain dead afterwards, but I'll just take a couple days off then get together with my friends and rehash the weekend.

I love this game!!!

If more of us valued food and cheer and 40K over hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

Did anybody else notice the Gladiator event sold out, then they added 15 or 20 more slots? It's gonna be a madhouse!

What do you guys think will be more common at the Gladiator? Tyranid MC? Eldar Mech? Guard Baneblade/Vulture? Ork Horde?

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

In last years Gladiator I played Word Bearers and I ended up playing an Iron Warriors army with 2 Warhound titans (won), Mech Eldar (won), Godzilla Nids (lost...stupid flamers not showing up grrr!), and Godzilla Nids (Won)

Godzilla is very popular in the mid-west. Look at the Chicago GT for an example, so you will see lots of the bugs.

Orks are the lastest and greatest army that people have not yet begun to meta game for, and I think that Adepticon will be the orks coming-out party.

I was thinking that we will se a ton of Baneblades now that they have a cheap(?) plastic kit.

And I will be playing Mech Eldar, so I think that you will see all those that you listed.

I think an ork cookie cutter list would have been out by now but it just does not seem to be the case. Probably there is an easy army to win with using orks but probably it will not appear until the advent of V edition.

Now pls remember this thread is for people who are actually playing in the invitational but groupies are allowed to fawn... its just natural really Mr. Simpson.

I also expect lots of Orks. It's a strong codex that hasn't been done to death, and everybody loves the Ork fluff.

What's not to like?

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

Orks will be interesting at Adepticon. They are a tough nut, but can they pull off the variable objectives for the win?

It would be very interesting to see an Ork army win the Invitational! I am sure it could be done too. Something about the color green...

I'm not doing the invitational, although I had an invite from last year's gladiator, mostly because I don't want to play two gladiators in the same weekend. But, I'm bringing a green horde for the gladiator. It's over 200 models, so I doubt I'll ever see a turn 4 though But, I'll be pretty-much immune to lascannons.

I heart SYR 8766

For all your bravado, if the US Army decided to invade, Wisconsin is it?, in force supported by a heavy bombing campaign for the month before, weeks of shelling from battleships on Lake Superior, and a full tank thrust (crushing the cows beneath the treads), I don't think that your .22 is going to make much of a difference really... Asmodai (my new hero)

At some point these sorts of decision-making skills lump you into the same camp as the Lehman Brothers, the White Star Line shipping company, and mothers who smoke during pregnancy.

Darrian you should make a journey there and check it yourself. Don't be intimidated by the lack of trees because they were all chopped down to make more guitars.
