Hey everybody!
First of all, I'm a little surprised at all the commotion. Ive been busy since this thread was locked the first time and had no idea that other thread had been made. I don't have much time, but I managed to skim through a bit of it.
Second of all, to anyone who is *truly* offended. Anyone who saw this army, and it hurt you, (no sarcasm, just at a loss for a good word to put there

) I apologize. That was not the intention. For those on a
PC high horse, well no apologies unfortunately. I would be sorry but I just don't like people like that. It could be because I'm a laid back guy and am not offended by anything really, and I also don't like fuss, and when you get people who are stuffy and fuss...well..
Like I said, for the honest among you, my deepest sincere apologies.
Third. Were my intentions to insult or otherwise bring harm to anyone else? No. Not at all. If so do you really think I would post it publicly? Why would I do that?
Of course I understand how some of you get the Nazi impression from this army. Of course I just didn't search online for random "propaganda poster" and slap it on a tank. I did put thought into it. However....
Fourth. Some of you amaze me at how far you will reach. I didnt even know a first Reich existed (yes its a "well duh" when you think about it, but I didnt) so the whole the Empire models look sorta kinda like a first Reich, and he must have done that intentionally to wrap it all up in one big Nazi taco are off your rockers. I chose the miniatures I did because the foot troops were the first models on the chopping block. I had an idea to make an armored company and thought, while I wait for my tanks, Ill make some nice infantry out of Empire models, and heck those repeaters are awesome stand in hellguns! Hey why don't we make the whole army kinda old school looking. While Im at it, the empire guys have German names, so lets use German propoganda posters as banners! Thats in a nutshell of course. Some of you are way off base. There is not nearly as much planning here as some of you might want to think.
Fifth. I'll quote what I posted on Warseer when confronted by a poster asking what the deal was:
"I like propoganda. In any form. I got in trouble all the time in design school for trying to appropriate it in some form or another, whether Russian, German, American, Japanese. The feel of all is iconic and hard as stone. I love it. Even twisting it as much as I have you cannot get away from that feeling. (I didnt intend to) which is why you never see it used in ads other than "Sam wants you" here in the US. No matter what side, belief system or war. Look at what it does to people not even in the generation or country they were intended for?
I made an army based on German propoganda, among others, as well as Thor last minute because I was searching for more freehand and I found that Marvel art. Notice how the Thor blades dont really match anything else in the army? I painted the stormies first, and noticed how his feather and cape, when drawn up by Marvel, matched their capes and feathers. All the Dozers were done last, and the Thor and Reaper ones were done a matter of days before I posted this thread. The reaper one was the very last thing I did to this army. Notice how that tank matches even less?
There is much less planning here than some will believe, but they will believe it and tell themselves that because of what they *WANT* to see in this army. Its a lot like art. Its done by a person, sitting in his pajamas in a little room, and then once it hits the world its interpretation and meaning is beyond his control. Like I said though, I do not care what people think. I can't. How would a person who *did* care deal with this situation? He made something thinking A, and it gets out there and a few people interpret B, which puts him in a bad light but isn't true. He could spend all of his time trying to convince that small group of people otherwise, but if he is wise he knows in his heart what is true, what he meant, what it means to be able to make your own interpretations and he lets it go..."
