Cool, thanks yak. Does it also have a solid (well, better than the one in 4th, anyway) definition of what constitutes a part of a model significant enough to be shot at? Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.

It specifies that "body" means head, torso, legs and arms. Wings are specifically mentioned as not being included in this even though they are technically arms of the model.

Nah. . .players can still gain huge advantages through modeling in 5th edition, whether it is the classic crouching Wraithlord or mounting skimmers on higher bases to make sure models can draw LOS underneath. All the potential is still there, perhaps greater than ever.

But the thing about my sig is, while I do believe the rules allows for players to gain advantages through creative modeling it also falls down to the character of the player as to whether or not they feel they need to use such an advantage to win their games.

In other words, just how badly do players want to win their toy soldier games?

Dunno. Till uhh I saw your sig, I never really contemplated using modeling to my advantage.

Smacks of cheating in my book.

I have seen it, but it doesn't help 'em any.

Losers tend to keep losing, even when they cheat. lol

Sarigar. I suggest you do put Stelek on your ignore list. If he really gets under your skin enough to the point where you want to discuss his personality traits with him, I suggest you do so via PM.

While some of his comments may be inappropriate or insulting you should notify a moderator about the issue instead of resorting to insults yourself which in no-way help to further the conversation.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Actually I have no problem with putting a defiler on a base.
I don't consider that creative modeling.

Putting a 3 inch high piece of board under a skimmer to block LOS would be.

You need to put a marine next to a defiler and draw from the EYES to *any* part of the model behind the defiler. Show me a picture of it.

Brash isn't the word I'd use to describe me. I'm full of confidence. My ego isn't built around falsehood, so I'm not an internet tough guy.

Yes, soft scores are my downfall. I've said it repeatedly. As soon as there's a tournament I can take grey minis to and win, I will do so. So far, there isn't one.

I don't think you'll be banned for yelling at me, everyone else does it and gets away with it.

Ignorance is bliss.

brado, it does? Can anyone confirm that? Though I'd welcome it, it seems a little out of step with the rest of 5th's "true LoS"-oriented changes.

I can confirm as I spent 3 hours reading the book at the LAGT this weekend. What he posted is indeed in the book.

It also states that any creative modeling elements on a model's base (like rocks) do not block line of sight.

What about uncreative? You haven't seen any of my work. Something about driving a buzzard off a gutwagon.

Did it say anything about the model itelf? nothing like a dread/defiler with lots of banners fluttering down from the body...
