Everyone who has taken the time to comment so far has really helped to keep me motivated.

Small update.
Just a couple more terminators finished.
These models are awful! The sculpts are really 'soft' for want of a better word.
They also took quite a lot of cleanup to remove huge clumps of flash.
This has totally put me off the idea of getting any more for a while but I would like a few with
lightning claws so hey ho.

So, what's left eh???

1 Landraider
10 Bikes (I've been putting those off for a while)
Got some barrels to drill throughout the army and grass to add to everyone.
Then I'll slowly start going back over some details, eyes, trim, decals/squad markings, power weapons (green or ice blue?) etc

Looks good. Have you thought about giving the metalics a very thin wash with purple/blue in order to tie them in with the rest of your colour scheme. I think this simple step would add a greater visual unity to each of your models.

I have thought about it but I've got a bit of a phobia left over from the old citadel metallic paintset!!!!
I may try experimenting with oily purple, blue, devlan mud washes in the joints for a darker oilier look. That will have to wait until phase 2!

I think that the blue would work better on the power weapons as you have already used green for the eyes on the termies. plus blue is MUCH better for a gradient.

Quick update.
5 Raptors done.

Update: Packed away!
Taking a break from painting until May 1st.
I'm moving back to Bristol, England on the 28th of this month and got looooads to sort out before then.
The ski season has nearly finished as has my resident life here in the French Alps.
I've been here three years now so it's time for a change. Change=Dedicated Games/Paint Room!

I had hoped to get this army done before the big move but such is life.
Still got the internet for a week or so here and should have it as soon as I get to Bristol so i'll still be on Dakka regularly.

You've got a really nice army, I was kind of skeptical about the paint scheme but I'm a convert, it looks really good, especially in the group shot.

The conversions you have done are really impressive, the blind daemons really stand out and the raptors are really good, the jump pack guy could be justified by some fluff like he hasn't earned his wings yet.

Sorry I haven't updated this blog for a while. I got distracted!!!
I have spent the last couple of months building scenery and gaming! :gasp shock:
I'll post pics of the terrain elsewhere when I get some better ones.
I've moved into my new space and all is well.
Anyway, here is a little something to be getting on with.....

Yup, I used cheap plastic storage containers, pringles tubes and a few other bits.
The others use Necromunda bulkheads with floors cut from thicker card and based on MDF.

Quick update!
My landraider is done!
After playing a few games I realised that I had to sort out the squad markings a little better.
So i've also done 10 more marines and a rhino.
Squad 1: Hair/topknots/crests.
Squad 2: Horned helmets.
Squad 3: Bald/no crests/horns.
I'll get pics of the reformed squads soon!

Working on my bikes now. Should have them done by the end of the week!

Your landraider is overwhelmingly silver. I would suggest adding more of the pink/purple panels in order to break up the monotony of it all. Painting details like the lights and weapons in different colours would also help. Personally I would dirty up the tracks so that they aren't the exact same colour as the rest of the tank as this would help to give the whole piece more definition. As it is each area tends to blend into the rest.

I agree with The Lost Hobbit. Too much silver, not enough pink. Maybe just the various doors being pink would be good?

i like the raider. pink complements the silver well.........

I'm not sure about the tanks at all myself.
I'm thinking that I may spray them black and work them up properly to a dark
purple with pink, gold and silver trim.
They work ok for the moment but aren't quite right.
I'm considering adding some Apoc formations in the future such as 3 predators,
3 vindicators, some actual hellblades and a talon or two. It would be a shame to 'waste' good
modeling and painting oppertunities on doing a quick job.

Only 15 more models (10 raptors/5 bikes)to get past stage 1!
