The most likely source of not being able to download it is not being on the latest firmware. It requires the 2.2 update. The update should be free and easy to get.

If only I had an iPhone...

$5.99 really isn't that much for something this potentially useful...

'40k players with iphones' may be a niche market, but that just means there are less people available to purchase your product, not that there's necessarily a higher demand to compensate for that price.

Are you saying that this program is worth less to you than a Extra Value Meal at McDonalds? It's worth less than a automatic carwash? It is worth less than three gallons of gas? If you are going to get less use out of it than any of these three things, then I would say this program is not for you. I don't think, however, the price is unreasonable.

We've become so accustomed to getting our independently developed software for free that anything over free is an insult. I'm afraid the era of "freeware" is quickly coming to an end. The distribution channels that nicklocking is talking about are growing and growing and make it easier and easier for programmers to reach a market.

Six dollars is less than the cost of one character model for your games of 40K.

nicklocking- Thanks for building this! When you complete it for vehicles and CC you will have done a lot for theoryhammer geeks eveywhere. And take no crap about the $5.99 per DL from people who fail to understand that you have to make a living wage and a decent return per hour for your work. $5.99 is a deal if the app provides more entertainment than, say, a theater movie. Which it will for most Dakka-type strategicians.

May I make a suggestion for making your job more about doing what you love? Get an agreement with Lone Wolf to port Armybuilder to the iPhone, or possibly to Google's Android platform (which will be spreading like wildfire soon, as it's open source). Ask for a percentage. You'll make good money most likely, depending upon what your skillset is and in turn how long it takes. Not many gamers may have iPhones now, but cellphone/PDA thingies are going to be as neccessary as laptops are now for info folks (ie nerds) on the go.

Again, good for you for making something useful. I'll be DLing the app as soon as I get my new phone from work.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!
