This is part of the trouble. So wrapped up in the dogma that child images = paedophile. Sounds logical except when underage sexual acts occurs between minors it is not paedophilia.
Ironic as the PC 'lets empower youth' dogma is equally as strong as the 'lets label' dogma. Both are crippling to society.

Admittedly it is not all the governments fault, technology has leapfrogged and put in the hands of children tools that they really ought not to have, however the breakdown in discipline morality and social conscience can be fairly laid at the rest at the feet of the PC lobby.

I fail to see any connection at all between the "PC lobby" and any reduction is social conscience can be made at all. If anything you'd have to argue the opposite, if you actually thought this. I don't see how any lapse in morality can be lain at the feet of this mythical "PC brigade" either. I assume they're a spin off of the "Liberal media " or "Climate change conspiracists".

PC lobby has firmly abolished discipline. Some pointers

- ban on smacking
- changes in curriculum that wrote out old values
- changes in teaching policy that tie up teachers who attempt to impose discipline
- lawsuit culture
police failure to deal with yoof crime, ansd also targeting victimes who fight back

Kids are not stupid, they can see bs better than most adults, but responsbility is something learned. Thus they take advanatage of the PC crap to get away with stuff they would not have done before. The main problem is that PC dogma doesnt actually work with the reality of how children think, create an excuse culture cop out and a child learns to use it. A person gains their social conscience by the age of seven, a person growing up with excuse culture and PC culture ends up with twisted set of social priorities. The way education is handled and yourth is handled in general is largely to blame for the disintigration of society.

Dont tell me you think the disintigration of society is a myth to be snoozed off. Wake up, the hoody is at the door.

No smacking works fine in Scandinavia. But they have lots of other differences in their societies which probably make PC work better than it does in the UK. Like education and treatment of youth crime.

I think if you actually looked at historical crime rates with youths, especially in the 20's and 40's (or for that matter any time before the 19th century) you'll find that society isn't breaking down.

You simply have no reference point to gauge something like that by so you whine about the "lawsuit culture" (something that died with the 80's).

Those are all interesting points, with the obvious exceptions of the factual errors in them.

A. Smacking isn't banned.

B. Changes sin curriculum ..? What old values then ? The Empire being great and Johnny Foreigner being worth less than us. Wake up, it's the 21st century.

C. I agree teachers are tied up with paperwork, but ^&*% all of that paperwork is to do with discipline, too much is to do with hitting targets and making sure that parents are informed-- changes brought in by the tories -- I'll agree there's issues to do with shoddy interpretation of the Human Rights Act and scaremongering by readitinthedailymailrightwingers.

D. lawsuit Culture ? Well..... perhaps. But if so that started in the 80s when... oh, the tories were in charge. Also doesn't really tally with recent attempts to limit "no win no fee" cases and clamp down on legal aid. Or is it only wrong when poor people complain.

"Police failure".. wait.. so one minute ( or thread) we're locking up more people than ever before, with a record modern number of people in prison and mass criminalisation of "innocent" people and the next minute THE KIDS ARE RUNNING WILD ! 1111

Errr.. what?

Kids are not stupid

HAHAHAHAHAHAH Good one. Yes they are. They might not think they are, but they are. That's why we don't let them vote. Or drive. Or, you know, be held responsible as adults.

And your not really going to try and use some BS Jesuit "thinking" as a defense are you. Cause I'm sure everyone can bring up 94. 500 links to do with Jesuit child abuse in about 5 seconds.

And I don't think society is disintegrating. What it is doing is weeding itself of those who hold old and irrelevant views and outlooks. Evolution FTW baby.

Red I dont really know how other countries are, but go ahead and smack yer child in public for being a brat here in the states and watch them go away. And believe me the police have plenty of trouble here, they practically need to have 3 bullets in em b4 its considered reasonable force to shoot back. Not to mention I see plenty of class action lawsuits for the dumbest stuff on TV. Hell now that FSC cigs are the only thing sold as of Jan 1st I have seen 3-4 adds for class action suits for people or the the loved ones of people who were dumb enough to smoke in bed and fall asleep because "they are now entitled to money. And kids aren't smart but they sure as hell are far more savvy then when I was younger. And now society is not disintegrating... I agree there, entropy is a far better word.

Posts are also deemed worthy if they try to add something more to a conversation then a jab at another person. I apologize if you don't like the way I type. Honestly I am half bombed right now, so sorry if I don't take to time to make a freakin' forum post look perfect.

Ahh, so you're half bombed and talking about societies entropic tendencies. I would say that's ironic, but its actually not.

FSC cigs ? Ta.

It would seem then that children are getting smarter, savvier and less stupid whilst at the same time their IQ is dropping. Cunning little bastards.

More than you realise, and you can take that one literally.

PC dogma is a weapon against the people used in the name of 'equality'. See the signs for yourself.

I remember reading a similar story a few weeks ago and being totally gobsmacked.

This is obviously not what these laws are intended for. They are supposed to protect the vulnerable from abused by predators not to wreck the lives of teenagers who are by definition horny and stupid.

In the case I read about a teacher had confiscated a phone from a young lady, seen the photos on the phone and involved the police.

Now leaving aside for a moment what exactly the teacher was doing going through the photos on a confiscated phone, this should have been dealt with by the teacher alone and at most a required a call to the parents. Getting the law involved was a total waste of time.

Now innocent (yes they are!) teenagers have a black mark against them when there only 'crime' was to be teenagers. Proof sometimes that the law is an arse!

No offense mate but I'd stop reading the Daily Mail if I were you!

There is no such thing as the 'PC Lobby' its an invention of the right wing media who aren't happy unless whipping old grannies and the gullible into a frenzy by reviling in some can of 'victim' status (yeah right!) constantly under threat from some kind of imaginary antagonist.

If you really think 'Political Correctness has gone mad' then look at the link below, its puts this pointless sound-bite into perspective better then I ever could. It also has a go at Richard Littlejohn, the most loathsome little sh1t known to mankind.

In Spain, last november a single deaf mother is judged to be unfit to care about her son because she slapped him after the little brat threw a shoe to her so the judge orders the child removed from the clutches of such a monster and send him to a center... january, a report surfaces that in 90% of the centers for minors, abuse, physical punishments and lock downs are a daily occurrence.

I can only think about asking the judge "Your point on the deaf lady case was?"
