Heh, and here I was thinking that while the bright colors are fitting, they need to be MORE varied across each marine, perhaps in such a fashion that they tie the army (or units) together into a cacophonous whole.

While I might agree that the cock-sabre would make running difficult, I don't think they are as over the top for Slaanesh as others here.

sweet some constructive critisim. i actually toned down the cock swords, much to my dismay i cannot fit them on my sonic blaster champs for the larger squads. also the greater demon is already very busy, i figured the cock sword for the GD would be a bit much. in they end your opinion is your opinion, but im getting alot of good remarks both here and in person.

truthfully the cockswords get laughs, so its kinda funny, and i know its not THAT creative, but i think its pretty unique. sexual degridation is just one facet of slaanesh, but its the facet i chose to focus on. if i could get a good source of female minis that are produced by GW i would have went a different route.

the demons im wokring on now have no arms, just cockswords, no eyes either. their only purpose is to gift victims with the grace of slaanesh.

im also tempted to make a defiler, we all know what the battlecannon would be.

i respect your opinions greatly, i know its not going to please everyone, but honestlty and truthfully i raeally dont care. the majority gives me props, and helps me get motivated to finish the army.

I'll join those giving you props on both originality and on skill. The cockswords are hilarious, and the "blissgiver" one is actually pretty disturbing. The others are just funny.

And thanks for the inspiration on using washes. You've really made those models pop in a much quicker period than layering/blending could ever do. I'm off to test a few washes for me Eldar, then...

i think the washes will be ace for the eldar. if i was to start eldar again (it would be the 5th time) i would use the washes almost exclusivly.

Personally I think you could express sexual degradation and everything else Slaanesh without doom dongs and horsecock battlecannons, but whatever. Clearly the army was meant to be a joke anyway and I'm just taking it too seriously I guess.

thanks for easing up on me a little bit, i do enjoy the critisim, but i get alot of laughs when people see the army, and that was kinda the point. i could have gone with the boring black/pink scheme and lept things sinple but i wanted to mix it up a bit.

im starting the large NM squads today, expect pics within the next few days.

I think one or two cock swords are enough. It's not that strong an artistic idea. Which would be a pity as some of the other aspects of the army (colors, etc) are reeeeelly good

im doing them in pods of 5, i have 20 to get done so i figure i will get them done by the end of next week. i also made my FW order last night so ill be busy once that comes in

Great colours and some interesting conversions. I really like how you've gone all out with the painting.

I think though as others have said theres a line that we need to be careful of as modellers. Themed armies are great, but its a muddy area when a theme moves into self parody.

Now look, I'm not an idiot. I understand the concept of a joke, I like Angry Marines and Cute Nids, and the entire 40k mythos is hard to take seriously, but stuff like this just harkens back to the days of high school when kids draw hairy cocks on everything. It's a crude, unimaginative "joke" and I find it hard to laugh at because it's more sad than it is funny.

I don't doubt that it gets laughs, but how old are the people laughing? I'd honestly be a bit frightened if anyone older than 20 did anything but shake their head in disappointment. Try harder, that's all I ask. Any idiot can sculpt a cock out of GS and glue it to their defiler. It's not that I don't get the joke, I just don't think it's a very good one.

And that's not to say that I'm not immature, I laugh at stupid gak. I'm not pretending to be better than anyone, I just don't see the point in defacing expensive models like this. But they're not my models and it's not my money, so whatever.

Or maybe it is me, maybe I'm just too uptight. Maybe I should say "feth it" and join in the insanity. I'll buy a box of CSM this weekend and sculpt huge codpieces or three foot dangling dongs on every Marine, people will love it.

i enjoy sidstyler's insight. i know im not gonna please everyone, are you a lil uptight? prolly. does that bother me? not in the least.

my LGS is swamped by age 20+ gamers, i have a healthy gaming group of at least 20 gamers, most in their mid to late 20's, some alot older. now we did get a flock of early 20 guys recently, but so far the only person who is objecting here is sidstyler. the old guys laugh, the young guys laugh.

all in all im shocked im getting feedback at all, im not that good of a painter, and this was just an exercise in using the GW washes. but i thank everyone for their input eitherway.

Well it's not a bad-looking army at all, it's just not my thing I guess. The washes are pretty good, I haven't used them much myself but it seems people get good results with them.

I keep looking at these half expecting a tie-dyed shirt. The very pale, pastel colors of the washes over white really are saying "Gentle, 1st grade teacher sort of hippy." Which is really weird.

Sorry to thrust gaming concerns into your modeling, but are you putting squad markings on these bad boys? I am a little concerned that the units will be difficult to distinguish in a scrum.

lol, no unit markings, i was never bog on them. my deathguard dont have them, my orks certainly dont.

the only place i see this being a problem is the 2 large NM squads, which would prolly be deployed far enough from each other to matter.

update time, taking a break from the Khador to hammer out some noise marines. 2 down, 18 to go then 6 lesser demons and the army is ready for gamesday.

the first 5, 2 are done and based, the third just got a wash ready for highlights and a base, should have the first 5 done by the weekend. maybe i can get the army done for tabletop next weekend for some practice games. this weekend is a fantasy tourney, busting out the stunties ive been painting for the last 2 months.

2 first finished. the yellow/black guy doesnt do much for me, but i wanted to see what the scheme would look like, not wanting to change it he will be in the swuad none the less.

You've done a great thing here mate love the colours and for some unknown reason i genuinly like the "man flayers" its done quite alot but uve actually tried to make it look like a weapon not an actual (i dont know what to call it for once in my life) so a thumb up from me

OHh and one thing please dont do a c*ck cannon please i beg of you! nipple lasers whatever but no c*ck cannon.

P.S Try and get hold of some of the dark elf/dark eldar slave models that games workshop are selling just to add some femine to this c*ck fest (yes i seem to use the word c*ock alot i apologise)

These models just made my night. Truly extraordinary. the only thing i have to say is that i have always been a fan of uniformed color scheme armies and a squad of all diffrent colored marines would get to me, but you pull it off nicely.
Also, a dark angle being slain by phallic-bliss giver was the coup de gras, in my opinion.

yeah, unit markings seem cool, but not in a chaos army. i understand there game importance, but i usually find ways around that in game.
