I barely have the time to play friendly matches, let alone tourneys.

Plus, my LGS hasn't had a 40K tourney in MONTHS...most people around me now play Warmachine (Lame-sauce)

I am in the 9+ bracket, but that is only because I work at my local FLGS and am over the 40k section. I regularly schedule monthly tournaments.

Tourneys bring out the worse in people and suck the life out of the game, i play this for the enjoyment, a few laughs /drinks with good mates, for fun not competition

This is actually the first year I've played tournaments. I played a doubles with my best friend and fellow devotee of chaos the day before I got married in April, and plan on playing in a 1500pt tourney in October that apparently has some Throne of Skulls invites attached. I wanted to hit the 'Ard Boyz prelims but nowhere in the greater Memphis area was hosting

I dont attend tourneys, I dont see the point in paying for having to be surrounded by teens who never takes a bath, or grumpy seasond gamers. And due to the sheer amounts of squig heads in my gaming circel I choose not to play with them

I never play in serious, competetive tornaments, but I do occasionaly play in freindly tronaments.

wow a lot zeros... so why are there so many people commenting about competitive lists in the army list section then if (looks to be) that half of all dakka users dont even attend tournaments.

You also get some comments saying "There nearest event is like 2 hours away"... thats not far at all, just make it a day trip (unless you dont have a way of transport, then i can see your problem)

Last time I went I got owned by a cheese list. I left the tournament after my first game.

Only ever played 2 tourneys. A local club thing and an ETC qualifier. I do hope our local club will start having more, as its quite enjoyable, in a relaxed environment.

I did 1 year of tourneys but now i stay away from them as much as I can, too much rules lawyering/cheating/bad gamesmanship/fat blokes whose shirts dont cover their belly, dont wash and smell.

Causual games and club campaign games are more fun!
