Well.. i'm siding up with "auto hit does not affect scatter rolls" not the ones rolled with blast weapons or in any other situation.
And far as i can tell.. people agree in that Big Mek locks the target unit in close combat immediatly after Zoink is rolled.
Thanks everyone for your opinions.

A. '...'

@Kirsanth - Cool, but it doesn't mean the same thing now because the rules have changed.

Now it means nothing, for the reasons quoted above, in addition to the Main Book FAQ.

As I understand it, a Codex specific rule overrides the BGB. So if you are auto-hitting, wouldn't you assume that it hits where intended?
Scattering would defeat the purpose of an automatic hit.
Ultimately, it is a little ambiguous and I think it would have to be agreed upon between players or a tourney coordinator.

You understand wrong. If this was the case, Sweeping Advance would be an even bigger mess than it already is.

Gwar! wrote:Norvin Invasion wrote:I shot at you. My shot scattered 1". You are under the template still. Therefore, I HIT you. So if it automatically hits...wow you guys should be in politics.
Yes, well done in completely ignoring the actual issue.
And you say WE should be in politics? Also, how the hell are you getting Template to Scatter (outside of Apoc, which I don't play so for all I know there might be)?
You have me corrected. The " WE" i was refering to was indoubtedly including you. But your interpretation of my statement was not RaW, but rater RaI by you. Extremely interesting and ironic. Please do tell me exactly, from your point of view, how the game is to be played?

Now it means nothing, for the reasons quoted above,
No. That's RAI, not RAW.
in addition to the Main Book FAQ.
Yes. This is why. For many people there isn't a conclusive argument for, or against to be found in the BGB 5th Edition or the current Ork codex. My point was that these sources can be open to interpretation on this matter. And that, IMO, a FAQ shouldn't be needed on this because it's simply a case of change of context for the word 'hit', due to a change in the rules-set.
