Corvus Belli doesn't have a great reputation for speedy 'concept to market' delivery, do they?
Is everything in the original rulebook out now (excepting weapon options)?
How long until everything in the HUMAN SPHERE expansion is out?
And...
Will Ariadna ever get a TAG?
(And it might be time to start a generic 'Ask Salisar/Achilles INFINITY Questions' thread going!)
Corvus Belli does not have the fastest turn around time, but it is hard to argue with the quality and detail of their work. The good news is that most of the models for the core book are already available, but they don't have all the weapon options quite yet. Ariadna TAGs? Only time will tell, but they do have a big werewolf thingy if you haven't already seen it, and the Dog Face are quite brutal as well.
Here is the next lesson:
***
Automatic Reaction Order (ARO):
When an active model enters the line of fire (
LoF) of an enemy model, the opposing model may declare a single “short” reaction order against the model who entered
LoF. Reaction orders may include short order such as: alert, attack (
BS,
CC, etc.), discover, sensor, and dodge. If the reaction is declared against an order that does not require a dice roll, then it will be a straight forward “normal” skill check. However, if the
ARO is declared against a order that requires a skill check, such as: Attack (
BS), or climb, etc. then it will be a standard face-to-face roll. Remember that
ARO’s almost always only gets one dice roll against the active model. There are some rules and abilities which breaks this rule, but I will cover that at a future post.
Simple Example –
ARO: If the Yu Jing player’s declares a move-move order during his turn, and he orders his Zhanshi to “move” across an alley into through the
LoF of a Line Kazak, then the Line Kazak may declare a single reaction order against the Zhanshi. Let’s say that the Line Kazak declares a “Attack:
BS” order, he will only get one shot at the Zhanshi, and apply all the appropriate range and equipment modifiers. The Line Kazak rolls a 20 as the shot flies by the Zhanshi as he sprints across the alley.
Complex Example –
ARO: The Yu Jing player declares a move-attack(
BS) order against the Line Kazak (behind cover) who is 21” away. The Zhanshi moves up to 4” to the building corner and opens fire with his combi-rifle against the Line Kazak. Since it is the YJ player’s turn, the Zhanshi will get his full burst (B) of his combi-rifle (3). The Aradna player sees that the YJ player still has 4 orders remaining and thought that it would be better to get the Line Kazak out of
LoF, so he declares the “dodge”
ARO. Now both players perform their face-to-face. The Zhanshi rolls a
D20 for each of his B, so he rolls 3D20, while the Line Kazak only rolls 1D20 for his dodge roll. YJ player rolls 3D20 and gets 2, 7, and 12. The Ariadna player rolls 1D20 and gets 7. Let’s take a look at the rolls in details.
Zhanshi (Attack:
BS):
BS11 - 3 (long range penalty) – 3 (cover penalty) = 5 (so 2 = hit, 7 = miss, 12 = miss)
Line Kazak (Dodge):
PH 11 (no bonuses or penalties) (so 7 = success)
Since the Line Kazak’s success number is higher than the highest success number of the Zhanshi, then the Line Kazak managed to dodge out of the way (and move 1/2 his first MOV value) as bullets pelt his former position.
