Guy Haley did play; his Guard were in an entertaining battle report vs Tyranids, and his losing streak with Goblins was legendary.

What I miss most with WD is the voices of the team members. Time was when you knew the 'style' of each contributer, and could follow there army growth and play style. Thats gone now. The only person who shows any personality now is JJ. Woop-de-fething-do.

I'm the same with Nuts and Zoo magazines...

"It is the great irony of the Legiones Astartes: engineered to kill to achieve a victory of peace that they can then be no part of."
- Roboute Guilliman

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

Actually, i used to really enjoy white dwarf. it was a lot of fun back in the day, it just grew worser and worser with time. I used to fiercely defend white dwarf's reports, always using that excuse that the new army would win because it was new, rather than there being a fix. But much less so now, as the reports got a little out of hand.
it does seem, however that the least biased ones should be those when no new army is brought out, for expansions and the like, as these shouldn't be biased.
I think it was the latest, Spearhead one that failed the most. the Eldar player admits he doesn't actually ever play Eldar, then goes on to say that Falcons with brightlances are great against tanks, and gives them scatterlasers instead.
for his troops, he thinks that 21 jetbikes with str3 will be great against tanks in a tank battle, and for back up takes Dire Avengers, who are great at tank busting, having str4 instead. all of which he doesn't actually need, because his tanks can hold objectives too.
for a tank battle, he manages to take 7 tanks, two walkers and one monstrous creature, whereas the Imperial player, who seems to actually have picked up an imperial codex once, takes 13 tanks, 2 walkers and a flyer.
and somehow loses, showing that they're all idiots anyway.
thanks for that thread, I've been wanting to rant that for ages.
good to get it off my chest.
