Spin all you want. If your walker's weapons are all blown off, you can't draw LOS. Therefore the ability to rotate in the shooting phase is irrelevant.

that induces another problem though.

Death company dreads with both weapons destroyed what happens, are they still subject to rage now that they cant draw LoS to anything?

Rage doesn't work for vehicles anyway. Or anything else for that matter since you cannot draw LoS outside the shooting phase.

I'm almost entirely certain Gwar! just told you how he'd play it. Before you even asked. It's right there.

Seriously.

going strictly by RAWs you would also have to obey the Most Important Rule, which also forces you to use common sense where it applies. Therefore the Dreadnought's "eyes" would be where it's vision slits would be, and thusly be able to "see" units going past and around it. And given the rules on Movement for both vehicles and infantry, they can pivot on the spot without actually counting as "moving" during the movement phase, doubly so for Dreadnoughts as they are considered to be more "agile" than simple tread-and-track vehicles.

Seriously whenever we have a dispute here I just crack the Most Important Rule.

What page number in the rule book, does it say that you are not allowed to draw LoS outside of the shooting phase? If you would be so kind? I'd like to read that for myself.

That's not how the rules work.

Can you show me a Rules Page where it says I can't hit your models with a Brick? Can you show me a rules page where it says I can't just set fire to all your models whenever I feel like it?

You have to show me a rule that says you are allowed to do so in the movement phase. Go on, I'm waiting...

Why should I? I never claimed that you were allowed to draw a line of sight in the movement phase. I was just asking you what page you got that from?

Or shall I just take your previous response as an admission that there is no page anywhere in the rulebook that says that?

Lolwhut?

This is starting to take on the Religious Method of Arguments.

Look, the fact is, I don't have to show you a rule saying you can't draw LoS in the Movement phase, because that isn't how the rules work. The absence of a rule saying you CAN Draw LoS in the movement phase means you can't. End of discussion.

So just to be clear... there is no rule saying that you aren't allowed to draw a line of sight outside of the shooting phase?

And rage requires you to draw a line of sight outside the shooting phase?

And there is no rule saying that you aren't allowed to draw a line of sight outside of the shooting phase?

You're right, rage is obviously unplayable...

So if, in a tournament, someone bends down and looks over their own tank during your movement phase, they have cheated and should be reported to a judge immediately? Why is line of sight a specifically game term in your book, but those other words you pointed at earlier not ('one', 'of', 'the', etc)? I can assure you that it is a phrase used outside of Warhammer 40k.

Q: How many of a specific demographic group are required to carry out a simple task?
A: An arbitrary number. One to carry out the task in question, and the remainder to act in a manner stereotypical of the group.

Do you bother listening?

What part of:

THE RULES DO NOT WORK LIKE THAT!

Do you not understand?

The rules do not say you CAN check LoS in the movement phase, so you cannot.

By your logic, I can go to your great aunt and break her teapots, because the rules don't say I can't.

Or, Gwar, instead of just shouting the same thing over and over again, you could either accept that he has a different opinion to your own and move on, or you could address his last post where he actually points out why he thinks the rules allow it...

You could do that yes... though I don't think she is worth any kill points.

it doesnt actually say you can only check LoS in the Shooting phase. It never mentions any connections LoS has to the shooting phase other than you must do it for checking ranges. Other than putting it in the shooting section, there is nothing connecting LoS to the shooting phase. The rules does not say LoS is exclusive to the Shooting Phase, therefore it is allowed to be checked in other phases.
