that i doubt...he lacks a certain needed brutality... in fact he somehow doesn´t want to act brutal at all it seems... it is as if the grim darkness didn´t spread all around him...so i guess i could rather be a moral backbone to the inquisition... talk about fishes searching for bicycles

A few points i thought i should post:

Uolis is meant to be a more open minded inquisitor (Perhaps verging on the side of Radical ). He may even serve as a mentor to Kerv in the story to come, who knows?

Oh and for purists the Chaos marine turning to dust has NO basis in existing fluff i just thought it would be cool to try and explain what has kept him alive.

Oh and finally a quick question, does 40k fluff use Thermobaric rockets? I couldn't remember if it was 'thermobaric rockets' or 'cyclonic torpedoes' (lol NERD ALERT).

Cyclonic torpedoes. In the first Ultramarine book.

Inspired me to make my own guard fiction were a lone guardsman is stuck on a planet with a chaos space marine and they are forced to work together to survive and ork invasion.

just a quick teaser: The boy awoke, the blow to his head had being heavy and his memory was fuzzy. He looked across the blood soaked plane to see a lone living figure, a traitor marine who was missing a leg.


will write more but on my own thread but i warn you that my ideas often end up as a total fail when writen up on acount of my aweful skill as a writer. (im not going to hijack yours).

Sounds really interesting i look forward to it. It would be really intriguing to see how the two different idealogies would clash and perhaps even unite.

Im thinking that the chaos marine has a decimated leg so has to really on the guardsman to help him get to an extraction point in return for the marine letting him survive the destruction of the planet or something. Its just an idea but i look forward to writing it.

I just read your story Perkustin and I can't believe I didn't read it earlier. You're a great author with an excellent writing and well developed characters!

but it doesn't seem to be continuing :( new entry demanded!

Edit: Forgot to say, thanks for stopping by Dragoons and thanks for checking out the stroy Lonelictor, coming from a rising star on the fiction boards like yourself it is nie to hear.

Werking on a few other fiction entries, though they are mainly standalones, i would suggest checking out [Blood Vengeance] as i am very proud of it and it is actually being finished as we speak .

I will continue the new recruits tale at some point however, as i have many more ideas for developments. Lets just say the space marines from my P+M blog will be making an appearance (and they will be at full strength ).

Really awesome story. It slows really well and the character interaction just wow. The inquisitor and Guardsman kervid seem more like an Uncle teaching his nephew a thing or two. One question other than where is there more? What "kind" of inquistor is he Malleus, Xenos, Herectis?

Time for a wee bit of teaser, this little exert is still far away and will probably be near the end of the second 'half'. It is not necessarily the best written etc but it does give some clues as to where Kervid and co. are heading.


Kervid's pulse quickened as the forms and chaos swirled around them, the beating ramping up as more and more of the creatures swooped up the stone chimney. Beyond number and beyond comprehension, a gibbering mass of gibbering masses, flowing from a wound deep in the crust of this unfortunate planet. The gaping chasm that drew in his eye still stole most of his attention, and all of his fear, a farcical circumstance when confronted with the facts. This was a major incursion, the tendril roots of obsidian they followed could trace their source to one grim location, the warp, the realm of madness, the brithplace of nightmares. Terrestrial rock glowed a sickly red as it reflected the ghastly un-light of the alien void below, sheer slopes giving way to an impossible rent, the death of their geometry. Kervid felt more than mere vertigo roil in his stomach as he stared down into the drop but this was a time to gulp down any dread best he could and soldier on.

He had an audience of great men this day their ships Aegean and Nemean floated sentinel above, kissing the upper atmosphere to better guide failsafe bombs and lance strikes. It almost seemed a joke to the boy that he was so crucial to a grand plan, the salvation of a world. Angels of death standing vigil above; entrusting him to go where they could not, who knows, this may even earn their respect.

While the lad looked at times awed, and more usually, just panicked Uolis was impossibly serene, the rivulets of sweat the only evidence of his exertion. Had he done this before? Was this a simple day when fighting the silent war?
'Not much further, my son, do you have it? Is it at the forefront of your mind?'
It was only when he spoke that Uolis betrayed his strain, the barrier was weakening, cannibilizing his lifeforce to sustain itself, a vague heat haze was it's only evidence, rising off the inquisitor's forehead like evaporating sweat. Kervid nodded, there was nothing to say.
