JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.

I'll also throw out that they're mostly plastic, so are a lot easier for new folks to get into the 'hoby' part of it.
They're also 'iconic' of 40K.
