Hurr! Ogryn Bone 'Ead!
|
I don't see anything wrong with his pictures except I could do without the ones of paint pots. i own those paint pots, his don't look any different than mine.
As for skill, OMGZORZ. Give him a break. He's teaching a technique. A technique I might add, that is aimed at a quick and easy way for beginners to improve their look and results. I applaud him for that, even though I'd do it differently myself.
This is a technique I could show my kid that he could do without incessant supervision, won't make him frustrated and he can build on once he gets some basic painting skills down. The results are just fine for beginners and getting some painted minis on the table will increase his confidence to get fancier with the Boss Mobz.
Don't judge every technique to Golden Demon standards. Noobs need tutorials too (and I might add, even more).

I have never seen somebody paint the skin of an orc in that way but it is actually very effective. Usually i just paint my orcs skin using dark angels green first of all covering the skin and then highlighting the muscles in a lighter shade of goblin green.

The humidity in Houston is rarely below 50%. Spray primer (and matte sealant, too), when applied above 50% humidity, doesn't go on as smoothly.
