It is not a bad thing to workout the scheme on a single mini or two, then paint in groups with the same colour imho.

guardsmen- batch paint. It's the only way to do it and remain sane. I did tyranids, orks and imperial guard. trust me.
BTW anyone know of a good UK spray gun, or a foreign one with cheap P&P?

Hobbycraft do sprayguns, i'm not at that level yet so I'm not sure on the price

i guess the old assmbley line is still the best for quick and effectiviness but the burnout is that way also far easier to get too...but when your right your right as they say...

The Prussian Blue is not the same as Royal Blue, Vik.
It was much darker, more Navy Blue.

I like vik's one more. The blue looks better for praetorians, but most of his force will be cadians.

lol... well i know that shade of blue too, but as they look good the quirk of the army is the rule surpreme of queen victoria mourning her husbands early death and that she shows by completly banning the blue...this gives everything a lack on the colorpalette andthus making all a bit more grim...it was at first a rather hazy thought too quickly mentioned but i lkie the absence of a whole color in a society more and more...
sounds ridiculous but i think in the 40k universe far worse atrocities had happend...^^

and as "scheidige" unifoms goes the prussian ones are side by side with the redcoats^^.. the rest is sloppily excuses of a picture of a soldier...^^

I think in the new alice in wonderland film, they based the quenn of hearts a lot on queenie from blackadder. She bellowed "OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!!" at every opportunity.

thanks shattered soul, i loosed today as i wanted to give you some daylight pics of my first model to update the very bad ones from last update... but i had lots of familytime today and didn´t come around to do them so...

postman brought 12 mint mordians to me and they got instantly sprayed in grey primer and although its not related to this blog i sprayed a whole bunch of minis SM for my son to be made for his iron templar chapter... will post pics of these and a very nice version on how to prime minis a twisted way tomorrow, so stay tuned fellas...

so again its update time here on my lil blog o steampunkish/modern praetorians...

so first i want to show you some better pics of my first cadian ...his name stays with duncan, he got some few touchups and then i took some daylight pics as lots of contrast and color gets lost by artificial light as of last time...:

some ten cadians for further fleshing out the army...note the kneeling sargent one of my first new converted soldiers, i had this vision with him kneeling on the ground and commanding his fellow soldiers to charge...maybe he would be good on the trenches?

and then i started to convert some shotguns for the use on veteran soldiers ...after a lenghty helpfull pm session with perkustin...thanks man for your insights^^

basically a heavy flamer IG arm with some bits of (dark) elven quivers for shotgun mags...


and although it is not really Praetorians related but shows a god and helpful technique of quick and easy spray priming i want you to show how i primed the next batch of iron templars for my sons army...



basically used binders for cables to strap the minis to a rod of plastic (any other rod would to as well) and then spraeyed them...the thing is due to the binders the minis stay upright and wont fall around and i really like that for unbased minis....as these will get lavabases as the rest of them already got...
