There is no system in which the automated warnings fade away. Once you've reached the threshold you will receive 3 day suspensions for any further automated warnings.

The reason for this is because if you've been warned that many times, you KNOW the rules of the site by now and if you're still breaking them, then you deserve a 3 day cooling off period.

Again, at the end of the day we're talking about THREE DAYS. This is not a harsh penalty. It only really becomes troublesome if you're getting these warnings all the time which is the whole point.

People seem to have the misconception that when a user clicks on the 'notify moderator' button that means a moderator is going to issue a warning...that is simply not the case. Moderators look at the situation they are called to witness via the 'notify moderator' alert and then decide if they believe a rule has been broken. Then, and only then is any moderation action taken.

Finally, as for the number of automated warnings one has to receive before they begin getting the automatic 3 day suspension, it is several, but I'm not going to say the exact number...again, if you're getting the 3 day suspensions then you've had plenty of warnings about what behavior you're doing that is considered unacceptable and needs to be changed.

*MOD hat on*

Depends on what the warning was for.

Go bananas in a most innapropriate way with profanity/porn, and harsher action would be taken, than say, getting into a heated arguement with another user and being inpolite.
