Romeo is already making bags for GW models. And selling an ass-ton of them.

Again, I guess you don't really understand. I used to enjoy 40k now I don't and I fueled R's ability to buy 40k radio by buying his bags.
So, I won't buy his bags anymore. There is a major pizza place in the USA that is very right wing and I don't eat / buy their pizza. Battlefoam makes a very good bag (please see my posts defending them) and I have many bags made by them. Romeo is an idiot and simply wants to crawl up into GW and this colors his podcasting. His views have lost him a customer.
Again, I don't really care about his opinion, I care that he (do you actually read posts, or do you just look at a couple of letters and assume after that?) is not correct in his assertions and he carries sway over the 40k community via a podcast that my bag purchases helped fund.
So, you don't like 40k; and your tolorance of Romeo runs out when he appears to not loathe the company that provides the hobby he is so involved with.
The main puzzler here is why you were listening to this eppisode in the first place??
Perhaps you'd enjoy listening to the D6 Generation - they don't particularly like Games Workshop either, but they're sponsored by Battlefoam; not sure how many degrees of seperation your principles allow, but it's there if you want it.

40k Radio isn't my favourite podcast but it's in the top 5 (Life After the Cover Save, IC, Jaded Gamer Cast & Worlds End being the others), but I do enjoy it a lot and listen to every episode. I also like it way better now then I did when Spencer was the host, something about his aditude really rubbed me the wrong way.
As someone just pointed out, even if you hate some of Romeo's views people should give him props for all the sponsership he has done over the years to many different podcasts. Off the top of my head other then 40K Radio, he has sponsored Dice Like Thunder when Miggy Mack was around (boy do I miss that show), D6, Worlds End Radio and Podhammer. Sure it's good business for his company, but it also really helps out the podcast community. I remember when there was only one podcast (The Drop Pod), then 40K radio and Podhammer came around and I can't remember when Battlefoam started sponsoring podcasts but they got in pretty early. Also, OF COURSE he is going to promote his bags on 40k Radio, but I would hardly say it's a 3 hour commercial every episode. Infact I don't think there is that much more battlefoam stuff on the show now then when Spencer hosted. Love him or hate him I think he's done a lot of good things for the Warhammer podcast community.

I have to say it again, I really think those saying Romeo is a GW fan-boy or trying to crawl up their tail pipe is really off. Listen to the last 3 episodes again, he doesn't have much positive to say.
BUT, he does give credit where credit is due, and he isn't 100% against or for, he does judge certain things on their own merits... like giving finecast the benefit of the doubt. Then being honest enough to gak all over it when it released for qc.
He runs a mini related business guys, he can have an opinion about them as a gamer, and he can see them as a lucrative business partner at the same time, the two do not have to be identically positive or negative.
I think if some of you feel that strongly that the guy is an ass-hat, just don't listen, it is your right you know! I enjoy 40kradio, so will continue to listen. I am sure both camps can get on with their lives without discussing it further just fine, at this point this has become circular and flamey.

I've gotten pretty sick of 40k Radio too, but not cause of the hosts' ideals. I've just realized that I hear the same news from other podcasts first in every case, they give no tactical insights (hell, they seem to hardly even play the game anymore), and their jokes just really aren't as funny. Their problem is that they don't fill a niche that isn't being filled better by other podcasts... well that and the fact that Romeo is a massive tool.

I do listen to it and enjoy the show. While I don't agree with their opinions I respect that everyone has the right to believe and feel what they want. Besides, they pour time and effort into creating a show that we listen to for FREE. I agree with a previous poster who said if you don't like it, don't listen to it.
Do I agree with everything they say? No. Do I still listen? Yes. Do I give credit where it's due, especially when it takes a lot of work (most internet tough guys don't understand this concept) to produce a decent podcast that is also entertaining.
My only complaint was during the interview in the last show with Rick Priestley... the sound quality was terrible when Rick spoke and it was difficult to understand him. I understand he's talking to us from overseas but even most Skype connections are much clearer than that.

Thank god, with our knowledge of economics you can probably explain these things for me!
1. Why are the cost of several items notably Televisions, bikes and computer games closer to the exchange rate than Games Workshop products? (P.S JB Hi-Fi sells computer games for about $20-$40 less than EB games in Australia).
2. Why arent other wagaming systems, Malifaux, Warmahordes, Infinity etc selling at double their american prices like GW? What makes them so special that they are tied to the exchange rate at GW is not?
Thanks
Still waiting to see ph34r explain away these questions.....

I think it is very easy for those of use who have jobs and livelyhoods that do not rely upon the gaming business community to criticize GW, battlefoam or any other business we do not agree with. Romeo is Battle Foam. The food on his table is bought with Battle Foam money. His car, his house, etc. So I think he has to be tactful about anything he says. Even if he thinks an idea is completely stupid, he just cant come out and say "That person/ company is Stupid." I can, you can, most of us can. Because our money comes from a different place. My 9-5 job is in the aerospace machining world, so Honeywell, Boeing or Raytheon dont give a rats ass what I say on this forum. But if I were to get on a aerospace forum, or another form of media that the Aerospace community listens to or reads, and I were to say, "Company X totally sucks, and they are a bunch of dumb asses." Well then, there might be some consequenses to what I have said. Maybe not immediate or life changing, but someone will remember that. And at some point I may have to answer to that person for what I had said. Maybe we "Dont get the contract." Maybe a buyer from Company X forgets to email me a quote. Perhaps a different company sees that I have a big mouth, and just doesnt want to get involved with the drama of taking me on as a supplier. So, if I were Romeo, I might dapple in a bit of brown nosing of GW from time to time. They are the 800 pound gorrilla of the miniatures world. And it never hurts to keep that gorrilla happy.

While I have yet to listen to the episode in question, I will say I enjoy 40kradio for the most part. I like the fratboy chumminess of it (which is why I preferred the Spencer era) and the fact that it does seem like a bunch of gamers just shooting the breeze about 40k.
Yes, it isn't full of tactical insights, but that's not what I listen for. I like a humorous slant on the news, updates on the hosts (lack of) gaming and campaigning, and I love Black Library corner.
40kradio for me is just something to have on whilst painting.
I am in no way affiliated with Battlefoam/40kradio/Romeo or anyone else involved. I own no battlefoam (though I'd like a couple 720s)

You misheard, Romeo read off GW's explanation of the purpose of the embargo, then went on, and on, (and on) about how stupid, he thought, it was. He pretty much thinks everything GW does is bad for business, or the hobby, or both.

He has shown in the past that exactly this sort of behavior is not beneath him. Honestly, unless he has a contract with a company, he can say whatever he wants. Even if he does have one, he can probably say what he wants with little consequence as long as he continues to make them money.
Doesn't change my view of him. Don't care one way or another. I'll still buy his product if it suits my needs. Right now none of their current bags are what I'm looking for. Still looking forward to the new bag line coming this fall.

And trust me our dollar aint strong its the US dollar making it look good (that and we dont just print money with no gold to back it up)

Their discussion of the recent changes to GW were the straw that broke...
Again, you don't seem to read the posts.
I enjoy playing 40k. I like the models GW makes. I do not like 40k radio for their ignorant opinions and I do not like that GW attempts to justify overcharging specific regions.
