Green stuff the curly hair and kit bash with orc or wfb chaos marauders to make his upper body.

Back onto the topic of how to use marbo. Marbo doesn't need to kill a squad to get rid of a squad. If marbo pops up behind a squad and kills 25% with his demo charge that's a morale test, which is hard to make if a pbs drops the squads leadership down to 2, and then they don't get to regroup because marbo is within 6".

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

Having a 6" range scattering weapon really adds to the random element of using him, but that can be part of the fun I suppose.

For this I like placing him in ruins a level above whatever I am throwing the charge at. If it scatters, it can't scatter on to him because he on a different level than the unit you targeted. I love getting into assault with him, he usually dies but when he rushes in and strikes at I5 WS5 with a 2+ poisoned weapon at 6 attacks on the charge... at least 1 dead marine or a couple dead anything less than marines.

Somewhere in warp space

Problem Is sometimes he is a complete fail. I have seen this happen:

Game One - Marbo fails to turn up.
Game Two - Marbo kills himself with his own demo charge.
Game Three - Marbo declares death or glory on a tank shocking rhino. Rolls double one for penetration and gets run over.

You can't blame your bad rolls on the unit, any unit would be a complete fail if you were unlucky . On the first game he failed to turn up which means the player got tabled on the earlier turns? again not Marbo's fault. Those are part of the game, seriously if people are that troubled over those things then why play at all.

Chance of marbo showing up turn by turn 3=5/6, by turn 4=31/36, and it is automatic by turn 5.

Marbo is bs5 and has a 3+ cover save, 2+ if he goes to ground. Odds of his demo charge scattering back on his head and marbo failing a 2+ cover save is well under 1%.

Odds of failing a pen roll against a rhino during a dog=1/36

Math hammer says you are very unlucky

The eye of terror.

Damn, don't any of you whiners know how to use cover and coherency? Sure, a demo charge anywhere you like is nice, but a unit at proper coherency distance will, at most, take 3 hits from a 5" blast. Granted there are extenuating circumstances that can lead to a unit being clumped together more than you might like, cover also negates half the damage he might cause.

I'm not saying he's completely worthless, because that would obviously be false, but you *know* he's coming, so prepare for it.

Why did the berzerker cross the road?

Anti Marbo deployment and movement will limit his destruction to 3 meq or less, but it comes at a price. Marbo only needs to kill 2 or 3 meq to make his points back. I know the math doesn't seem right at first, but the effect he has on meq is he forces them to cower in area terrain which slows them down, hide in transports, and continiously worry about transports not near area terrain being wrecked on a pen roll of 5 leaving the squad vulnerable to a demo charge. In short marbo is worth more while he is still in reserve than he is once he is on the table. Controlling the meq players movement and deployment should be more destructive than his demo charge.

The exception to my rule is against heavy weapon squads when marbo is combined with a pbs. If a squad is close enough to the table edge that 2 fall backs will drive it off the table edge marbo's target should be obvious.
