FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

In the Tau Codex the word for a problem that the Earth Caste have not solved is "Da'noh."

In the same book there's a quote on Farsight's page that's pretty clearly based on the "I've seen things you wouldn't believe" monologue from Blade Runner.

The Space Wolves had two heroes named Erik Morkai and Irnist the Wise (Morecambe and Wise).

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics.

Fulgrim predates Final Fantasy by like a decade.

Um False. Warhammer 40k and Final Fantasy were released in the same year 1987....

Yes, but Sephiroth, who was being referenced, didn't appear until FFVII, which is 1997 - exactly a decade later, in fact.

Afriel Strain, the attempt to create an army of Macharius clones - Afriel is the hebrew Angel of Youth. Unlikely to go further than that, but it could be an Evangelion reference - Rei Ayanami, an attempt to resurrect via cloning, was half angel.

Nurgle, God of Decay and Disease - Nergal, the Mesopotamian/Babylonian God of the Underworld, held the title "Lord of a Thousand Plagues."

The unorthodox Tau hero Darkstrider's Tau name is Shas'el Myamoto. Miyamoto Musashi, other than penning The Book of Five Rings, was known for using sneaky and underhanded tactics to overcome superior enemy forces.

Ferrus (Iron Warrior Primarch) = Ferrum (latin for Iron)

Ferrus Manus means Iron Hands in Latin and i'm pretty certain he was the leader of Iron Hands.

I always thought it was a joke and reference to Marvel's Iron Man. it made sense with the robo arms and everything

413th Lucius Exterminaton Legion- 4,000pts

Atalurnos Fleetbreaker's Akhelian Corps- 2500pts

Logan, a guy mentioned somewhere in the Spave Wolves codex 5ed, used to fight with dual-lightning claws, just like the other Logan who fights with dual adamantium claws (nicknamed Wolverine).

The description of the Spartan Assault Tank was mentioned on the book's page #117 (a Halo reference). Though this one is so subtle it could have been coincidence.

The combat gear of Tau Firewarriors, especially their hats, is from Brataccas.

Arjac Rockfist (besides the Thor stuff) = Ajax from Greek mythology? (huge guy, fought with a hammer?)

Note to the reader: my username is not arrogance. No, my name is taken from the most excellent of commanders: Lord Castellan Creed, of the Imperial Guar- I mean Astra Militarum - who has a special rule known only as "Tactical Genius"... Although nowhere near as awesome as before, it now allows some cool stuff for the Guar- Astra Militarum - player. FEAR ME AND MY TWO WARLORD TRAITS.
