I will also note that, in addition to the battleforce, GW is doing some of those army box sets for the holidays which will include a DE army - pricewise that's a pretty solid deal as long as you're interested in everything in there. The only questionable snag is the RJBs, and those can still be functional, and if you're absolutely against them are still decent to rob for bitz or to trade for more desired things.

It is a little fiddly, true.. but gorgeous when it's all together.
The old ones were just as much of a pain, but with more chance og skin lacerations IIRC

If you wish to glue the small spikes on the sides... that was annoying.

FYI, a Ravager is even worse than a Raider to put together.
It takes less time to assemble 2 Razorwing and 1 Venom than it does to just clean up the parts for one Ravager. Heck, I can cut, clean and assemble a Venom in about 90 minutes now that I"ve done it 3 times. Hence why I decided against running a double Ravager list.
For carrying purposes, do yourself a favour and buy some 1/16" magnets. They are perfect for the turrets, the sails and the driver. Check out my DE blog to see detailed pics.
So, other than a tedious Raider kit, what did you get?

My DE collection now contains 1 box kabalite warriors, 1 box wyches, 1 raider 1 venom and 1 archon. Ran out of money at that point lol.

A legal force at least.

Yeah on the first wave of purchases i wanted at least a legal force. my next wave of purchases will prolly consist of another venom another raider another box of warriors, and prolly a ravager or razorwing.

The razorwing is great fun to play. I field one with it's basic loadout+flickerfield. It can do a lot. My personal favorite models are the reaver jetbikes. Yeah they tend to be quite useless but I like em so I field em.

I tend to field reavers as minimum sized assasin units. One with heat lance or blaster, a couple of buddies to take the flak, and zoom from cover to cover until you can rearshot a tank or zap an hq..
There are other good things in the Fast Attack slot though, which makes choosing aggrevating, but i generally build a list around a theme, which helps with that

Did you buy the Battleforce or did you buy everything separately? At 95$ you end up saving around 64$ on the bundle, or enough to buy an Archon and a Ravager, plus you end up with 3 Reavers as a bonus. Price-wise, It's probably the best "starter set" put out by GW.
Even though you might not intend on using the Reavers, they're such well-made kits that it's almost a shame to not at least build and paint them.

I bought them separate, i had bought the warriors a few days before my actual spending money came in so when it came time to choose on the 95 kit i decided i ddint need half of it right away so i went with piecemeal.
