Back on to topic. I think that the main reason that Tau do not use multiple drives is because there would not only need to be space for the multiple drives but also for multiple power souces.

If you are using one engine, and charging another your power source would have to be double the size.

The Kroot fluff and the BFG fluff. The Kroot keep their races Mercenary traits and tech level a secret. They have pretty advanced Tech, but they deliberatly cultivate the image of primative species to keep the Tau in the dark.

Grey Templar is correct. The Kroot keep things from the Tau. They're more widespread galactically than the Tau too.

It can't be that much of a secret when the Tau see huge great Kroot warspheres in the Tau fleets.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

i dont belive theres any fluff limitation to it but if there was then orks would find away around it, incidentaly, tau should paint there ships red, that would do the job
i think the extra fuel needed would cancel out the bonus of having 3 engines firing one after the other.
the amount of heat that would be generated would be huge, or maybe the ships simply cant handle the strain of continuous warp skimming.
i think the weight of the fuel would become too much for a single engine to cope with and then you would need to make better engines which require more fuel and you see where it goes from there.
ships can only get so big before there gravity starts attracting nearby planets...

The Tau don't ask questions.

Why would Kroot hide info from their most trusted ally?
Even from one that save them from certain doom?

Because the Kroot really don't buy into the whole Greater Good thing. They are a Mercenary Race, they just see the Tau as their #1 client. They know the Tau think they are completely part of their empire so they reinforce that line of thinking, because the Tau are useful for the Kroot as a source of manufactured materials that the Kroot need.

So Tau are really the most naive race in the galaxy...
At least they are sure that Kroot will always help them in matters of war.

Also the Tau are that keen on the Kroot themselves - all that eating dead people stuff - I bet that communicates itself through quite well especially with the Fire warriors and their honour. Plus alliances can be broken

Also I don't think the US shares ALL of its military tech and info with friendly nations like us..........

Yes, some people say the Tau are using the Kroot. It's the other way around. The Kroot are using the Tau.

And vice versa. I think the US tried to steal Harrier tech originally.
