Working on my display board for these guys.

It's my first one I've ever done and it was a real mission to get 3 vendetta on there, so I had to get creative!

Had to get this ready for GuardCon the weekend before last, so it's not how I want it but still went okay.

It was a doubles tournament and my partner had no painted army so he used my dark angels.

I drew on best painted which I was really happy with. However since it's a doubles they then added partners to find best painted team and I lost out there!

Anyway sorry for the quality but here is a pic of my armies (we were late for the beauty pageant and had to just shove all our minis on there)

Oh snap, I didn't know you had gone to Guardcon, I went for the painting competition and hung around the last match, surprisingly I was watching that army face battle!

Quick question on the salvaged chimera. Were you able to disassemble the tank or did you strip it while it was built?
If the latter; HOW?

I went out and bought 3 bottles of dettol to strip a painted 2nd hand warhound titan I bought.

So I just soaked the entire tank in the goop and went to town with a tooth brush.

I assembled it with plastic cement back in the day and had glued a dreadnought missile launcher onto one side of the tank.
So there was a big rip in the side that I patched with a bit of etched brass.
I also munted all the las rifles so I ripped them out and replaced them with small nails.

Took the kriegsmen to a local tournament last weekend and managed to get best painted, first award or anything I've ever got so that was pretty neat.

Gone 2 for 2 for best painted in my tournaments this year now!

My reign will end next one where I know for a fact my mate has a brand new sexy army all my club and I will vote for though

Anyway heres a couple shots of a Tau army I painted for my friend and (most) the armylist that won best painted at Over the Top 2013.

Welcome back! I also play Guard and will be following your projects closely- terrific weathering and especially rust techniques, very effective. Nice, tight, Army plan you've got going and love the super-heavy!

Going to be adding ~40 more lasguns for conscripts, 10 or 15 Temptus Scions with as much plasma guns as I can, 9 Primaris Psykers(wyrdvane psyker minis) and a few assassins to the mix for 8th edition. More to come soon!
