So who's running the tables???

Been awesome so far!

Top table is Nids and Purifier Grey Knights. Next down is Henchmen Grey Knights and Scarab Farm Crons.

This next game will determine who plays for all the marbles, I would love to see Crons vs. Nids!

Team Zero Comp still has one teammate in the running, but the Nid Player (Cooper) has him on the ropes.

Some of the best players drew each other round 1, and knocked each other out of the running.

Some gorgeous armies here, too. Really nice looking. We'll have pictures up soon.

Going into round 6, we have a 3 way tie for first!

Cooper with his Nids tied Julian and his Purifiers while Dave Key and his Scarab Farm beat Magila Gurila's Henchmen Grey Knights.

So, it may come down to accumulated victory conditions to determine a winner if Cooper wins and either Dave or Julian wins, which would be a first for our system. However, if Cooper ties or loses, and either Dave or Julian wins, we will have a clear victor.

It's cool though, we essentially have a 2 game battle for the title!

And, totally awesoimely, the guys at the bottom tables decided to play a 2v2 game, with all the objectives in the middle of the table, and only vehicles being able to score the objectives. The only way to destroy a vehicle is to ram it! They're calling it bumper car 40K, hahaha, which is funny as hell.

So we’re exhausted, but what a great event. We’ll have more in depth coverage in the next few days, but for now here are the final results:

Best Painted: Israel Sanchez’s Tau

Renaissance Man: Dave Fay’s Black Templars

3rd Best General: Doug Johnson’s Battlewagon Orks

2nd Best General: David Key’s Scarab Farm Necrons

Tournament Champion: Cooper Wadell’s Tyranids

So yeah, eat that internet!

Nids, Crons, Orks taking the top spots in a very competitive format with extremely good players. I love it! Not a Grey Knight in sight.

So thanks to everyone for coming, we look forward to the next event!

Sorry I was not there, but I have a nasty sinus thing and I figured you guys probably do not want to get virus bombed at a Con anyhow. Suprising to see Nids lose to purifier GKs, but then Cooper is solid and the multiple mission thing really helps Nids more than anyone else. Was he doing the Tervigon thing or was he running a Swarmlord list?

Also, Doug is a Beast with that Ork list. I don't think I have seen him do worse than third in the last 4-5 events I have seen him attend. In fact, if the tripple manticore guard guy does not sieze on turn one, he probably would have walked away overall winner of the last SiS. Did he face Cooper directly at any point?

Congrats again Cooper!!!

The Best Bug player from Throne of Skullz takes 1st! I'm not surprised.

I had a great time and this was a great and very tough field to test out some of my new Ork tricks. I think I might be ready for Adepticon now. Thanks again to all of my opponents for the fun games.

Thanks for running the Event Zero Comp.

I did not end up losing to the purifier GK's. We ended up drawing.
I was using 2 tervigons. No swarmlord or tyrant.
I did face Doug in round four and defeated him on the last turn.

Clearly, the tournament was a bunch of Noobs with terrible lists. Also, they should, like, L2P and stuff.

Seriously though, congrats to all those who placed. Wish I could have made it.

I didn't see the tau personally, but the one blood angel army that was playing around table 7ish during game six was fantastic. Very well done. He definitely would've got my vote if there was such a thing.

I know which blood angel army your talking about, it was a great one with the led flickering explosion markers and such. I don't think very many people remember the tau one at all, which is why it was a surprise.

I saw the tau one that won a few times. It wasn't all that flashy, but was painted to a very high level from a technical standpoint. While I can understand why some people were surprised that it won, I also understand why it did win.

Thanks so much for coming out, guys! We had a blast and it was so nice to be back in San Diego.

As for best painted, it was close. Between the Imperial Fists, Necons, Blood Angels, IG and Tau that were finalists, there was only minor differences.

What set the Tau army apart, was the consistancy of paint quality between infantry and vehicles, the cleaness of the detail work, the technical skill of the advanced techniques he used and the overall composition of his army. It was a close compeition though, and I wish we had had a larger pize budget, as we would have given out more paint prizes, but we had to work with what we had.

There were also a lot of beautiful armies that could have won but weren't done! A number of armies had sveeal unpainted models and as such, weren't eligible to win.

Are you guys talking about Dallas and his Roman Marines in the Red TableWar Case? That Army looks so awesome I agree. I will be shooting that Army in the Studio soon. I'll try to get the photos up on here and our fan Facebook site.

@LaJollaGrad - I was winning end of 5, correct? Dang 3+ roll for 6 and some great turn 6 rolling on your part. Round 6 I got some lucky KFF rolls to make up for our game. Not to take anything from your Win. We played a tough Chess match of a game and you came out on top, deservedly. Sidenote: Man that Hive Guard FAQ has messed with my head, but thanks to our game I think I'm cured.

@Fist - I had a great time too. Next time get some Red Thirst tokens or icon markers of some kind so you don't forget which squads have RT by the way did you run BAs at BAO?

It was a draw at the end of turn 5. Me blowing up 3 battlewagons in turn 6 is what put me over the top.

Hey guys, yes, we will have pictures up of all the armies. We will also be putting overall standings up as well. We just got back late last night so we're trying to get caught up on work. As soon as we have a second to spare, we'll upload the results to RankingsHQ and to our website.

How dare you have work to catch up on, there are pictures of plastic miniature sci fi tanks I want to look at!

So with 3 events under our belt using the BAO missions what is your consensus as a tournament organizing team?

Congrats, always nice to see a fellow Nid player do well in a competitive setting. Vanilla Tyranid tournament list, but I wonder about the two HQ Tervigons - any special reason as to why not field one as a Troop?

Care to elaborate? KFF doesn't give cover saves from Impaler Cannons.

I did end up taking one as a troop. I only had one as an HQ.

I defeated Doug in round 4, not round 6. I believe doug is speaking of a later game, where his misfortune and unfamiliararity with the new hive guard FAQ was made up for by some lucky rolls.

I played Dugg in round 6 and he is being modest. No luck was involved, he simply outplayed me and was by far the better general.
