Basically the Imperium's mode of operation is this,

1) Throw Guardsmen at it,

2) Repeat step 1 until problem is solved,

3) If step 2 doesn't work throw even MORE Guardsmen at it, and LRBTs too

4) If step 4 fails, or takes too long, then throw Space Marines at it

Yeah this is fundamentally how it works lol

Storm troopers are the best the IG got. If you follow third edition fluff you could argue that the hardened veteran squads were in fact the best as they are the last men standing

But I still feel that storm troopers are No.1 (with hardened vets possibly equaling them) and regular vets No.2

The kraskin are the cadian storm stroopers and it has been proposed in the fluff they could be superior to the storm troopers from other parts of the imperium

But within the storm trooper ranks not including the kraskin on cadia - there are 3 types of storm troopers

A Imperial Guard storm troopers
B Ordo Malleus storm troopers
C Ordo Hereticus storm troopers
