I'm generally against posting orders as they restrict things, although only if people will be responsible and not post masses of stuff all in one go. Anyway, some semblance of an order generally forms by itself which suits people better.

I've just assumed the ship was large enough to accommodate my character her own room, due to privacy. Not to mention her father's company has probably invested a bit into the navy.

Yeah, I reckon that most of the crew would be two to a room, but for a special case such as yourself you would get your own room.

Also, do you want to start out conversation, or should I?

I probably am because I'm a privateer in service to them. It's your decision though: I'm not sure 2 major ships should be in combat this early in the story, although it might be fun.

yes an encounter, I blast you you dodge me and LOL while I lumber around to try and line up a harpoon (you then get away or summink after attaching some kind of tracking device to my ship

Sounds good, but be careful with being hit by my weapons: At close enough range (e.g. 150 yards) they can blow a hole in even the toughest armour

Already set up the tracker. The ball is to break on impact releasing a tacky adhesive to hold the tracker inside of it in place.
