No it isn't. The whole "power a city" is only for a brief instant. Laughing man did some maths and showed how little energy it does take.

Anyways, this project actually started as a wireless tazer, and they can still alter the weapon and return to the original idea, keeping it much more practical energy-wisel.

When your super aweseome Gundam is vulnerable to the latest in 1930s Wehrmacht PAK 38 technology, or just a guy with a good sniper rifle, you've got problems.

EDIT: Give me a flying RC model corsair, a half a pound of semtex, and line of sight, and your gundam's toast. AMERICA HURR!

That's if they get past the issue with they hydraulics first. I suspect it would be able to move at maybe 5mph.

Now using them to support and strengthen the actual wearer as armour, that'd be a fair bit better. Then it'd require an engine simply strong enough to pump the fluid through it, probably weaker than most cars. The main issue is of course the legs, specifically the ankles and pelvic region; too many vulnerable points to see any real combat use.

I'll give you a half crumbled building and it tripping in it's "ideal" environment, same result.

I really love how much cool stuff comes out of Picatinny, considering I live is the same state. This is probably cooler than the railgun they have been working on.

It is about time they made a laser that shoots lightning. We have had some bad storms here lately and I would love for someone to set one of these up to take care of the lightning. Lightning can be very dangerous hazard to humans. Lightning took out several trees in my area that knock power lines down and left people without power for days.

It doesn't dissipate lightning, it creates it... well something similar. It uses a laser to supercharge the particles around it into plasma. The most common occurrence of plasma is in lightning, due to the high levels of energy present. This is a weapon that creates "lightning" to cause damage to a target.

It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

I vaguely remember seeing a lightning cannon on a show called "Future Weapons", at least I think that is what the show was called. Had an angry bald marine as a host.

The gun was enormously badass tho. Shot a bolt through a sheet of metal 3 inches thick and burst it like a rotten fruit. It was glowing cherry red after too.

I always envision the tesla weapons of the necrons to act like the Lightning gun from District 9...god I love that gun! The whip-crack sound followed by a meaty wet splat!

I do the same but for the dumbest things. Example, asking my kids what cereal they want for breakfast. My son giggles, my daughter just punches me, but in the end Im laughing at myself for it.
