Durandal wrote:Chaos can possess anyone, the eldar's soul is gone but the body remains as a vessel for a demon. This is different from becoming a chaos worshipper. The midget Goto once wrote about eldar worshipping chaos, but ultimately their soul gets sucked out and eaten no matter who they worship, its only a matter of time.
As a psychic people, belief would become reality. So eldar that worship chaos would mutate themselves and those around them and become an all too tempting bridge to the warp.
Also, without the protection of the webway, soulstones or the harlequin, an eldar would get their soul sucked pretty quickly by Slaneesh.
re Soulstones: This does not seem to be the case anymore - it only seems to apply to the Craftworld Eldar and Exodites - the Dark Eldar and those in tranisiton between don';t seem to need them, in or out of the webway.
Eldar can fall to Chaos - the whole point of the Path or the Exodite way of life is to try and protect /prevent them form falling. Now we know that some abandon the Path - and leave themsleves open to corruption. Indeed those of Altansar are suspected by other Eldar of being corrupt.
p26 of the current Choas Demons shows that Eldar can indeed become corrupted by choas - thats how Khey Ys falls to Chaos.
For me the obvious power for Chaos worshipers to dedicate themsleves to would be Khorne - Khaine is arguably an aspect of the Blood God and the Taker of Skulls should be able to protect those Eldar who tread is bloody path from Slaanesh caliming their souls - exactly as the two fought over Khaine.
Tzeenetch and Nurgle could do the same thing but
IMO less likely...........
