WarOne wrote:World Kitchen (company I work for) produces Corelle, Corningware, and Pyrex. These are many decade old brands that have survived respectively from the 1970's, 1960's, and 1910's.
Many people who enter my store love the brands. Some don't like the glass shattering and Pyrex has been known to explode under the wrong conditions (or with a defective crack in it), but by and large I am stunned by the amount of tourists who come to America and shovel hundreds of dollars on my product because they cannot get it in their home country and love the aesthetic tastes of it.
I had a Pyrex baking pan helix on me. Literally twisted into a helix...violently.
I went out and bought a whole new set and never set it on the granite counter top again. I'd throw money at those brands too, good products.

I have literally never met anyone who hates Valve (never mind that there work is pretty much universally praised by critics and gamer alike), I've met people who don't care for the company but usually most people (myself included) who know anything about the company thoroughly enjoy there
products and services.

I don't get walmart hate either. Nobody forces you to work at Walmart. And the prices are cheap so people that a low income(or just stingy) can buy things there.
Its probably similar to the McDonalds thing. Its easy to hate the faceless corporation, and one with big pockets at that.
McDonalds doesn't make people fat. Junk Food companies don't make people fat. People eating junk food make people fat. Its a choice.
And its not fast foods fault that healthy food is more expensive then unhealthy food. Thats actually the consumers fault. By demanding fast food, and lots of it, they have driven the price down to very low levels.

Video games is an area of business in which many customers are teenagers who throw a strop and "h8" companies for the most trivial of reasons.
I mean, if you want to hate a brand a sense of proportion should lead you to hate Union Carbide rather than Electronic Arts.

I hate Apple. HATE.
Their products constantly are created with astronomical potential that is intentionally locked away and carved out for no reason other than the company's insistence on controlling the behaviours of its customers, and wants to dumb everything down into a Hobson's choice so that grandma can watch cat videos. In that respect, Apple is the new AOL. The company has continued along this path because long ago they realized that they could keep selling the same product to its customer base ove rand over again. Apply customers truly do go get suckered into buying Malibu Stacy with her new hat.
I hated Steve Jobs and I baked a cake when he died.
And I hate Apple's customers: those who have decided to form a fething cult and have allowed Apple to continue pulling its crap by negating market forces. Normally, when a company produces sub-standard products, the marketplace will vote with its wallet and the company either shapes up or bleeds out. Apple, however, has managed to turn its customer base into domesticated livestock; willing to buy any sub-standard product just so long as it has an Apple logo and rounded corners. As such, Apple has been allowed to put out hot bowls of wasted potential without succumbing to "normal" market forces.

The main thing that annoys me about apple is how they keep producing nearly identical products completely needless ones (I'm looking at you iPad mini)
And the fact they have fanatics who will buy it purely because of the label and regard Steve Jobs as a god.
And the huge hypocrisy of them suing samsung for the similar products issue when Steve Jobs had endorsed it and used it.
And iOS 6

Well, this thread seems to have degenerated into a dull "I h8 everything Apple" rant so I shall close it.
