Thanks a lot, guys!

@ Red Skullz: Here's a Savage Orc BB team I came across when looking for inspiration for my own models. I think the models lend themselves very well to being used for Blood Bow. I just wanted a more armoured look for my overall team. The star player's a bit of an exception, of course...

@ Nashbashem: Oh, I'll definitely add a troll at some point! I just haven't decided yet whether I want to use the troll from the Skull Pass starter box or one of the new, multipart plastic trolls.

@ Zwan1One: Tactics discussion? Wat's dat, humie?

@ Theophony: I did consider adding some war paint, but decided against it: The model is looking quite different from the rest of the team as it is, so I didn't want to introduce any more contrast. Plus I seriously suck at freehands

I'm going to weigh in here and say that the metal stone trolls are some of my favorite miniatures ever produced by Games workshop...

As it stands, I'm not sure the skull pass troll is big enough or dynamic enough for the statline I'm sure he'll have.

But at the same time, the river troll just doesn't look 'right' for your team. He's too squat, and I feel too savage for your armored orks?

Only solution then is a stone troll

Cheers, guys!

Actually, chances are I'll be going for the river troll because I love those new models so much. Plus they're plastic I guess making the model fit my team will be a bit of a challenge, I believe it can be done. Plus a box of those guys would give me another troll for my Mordheim warband (and yet another one to use for whatever I like: Maybe I'll use the vomiting one as a fan for my BB team? )

Anyway, I'll only resort to using metal models if there's absolutely no other way -- especially at that size! For the most part, I am done with metal.

Oh, and I don't think those chaos trolls are not all that bad: They do look like stone trolls warped by the ruinous powers. Still, not what I am looking for.

If you're using river trolls as a base then the guy on the left might be a good fit - http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440081a&prodId=prod750003a

With his head turned to the left and some work on his right hand (maybe with the head from the guy on the right because it looks like it's concentrating ) it could look as though he's about to throw a Goblin into the End Zone. The body is plain enough too that you might be able to slap some armour on him to tie him to the rest of your team.

It'll be interesting to see what you do with the troll. It'll be the most difficult model to create a dynamic pose with. But really hoping it'll be armoured like the blitzer's.

How many trolls can you have in a team? I think skaven can have two rat ogres.

Painting this guy was a blast, and so, a relatively short while later, the model was completed:

All in all, I think the Waaaghboss makes a nice star player for the Orkheim Ultraz. And with his distinct look and imposing frame, he makes for a stunning centrepiece:

As always, let me know what you think! And, of course, thanks for looking and stay tuned for more!

Daaaamn!! Now THAT's a star player! I love the gauntlets, and the added beaten-metal shield bit for a forearm guard!

Thanks a lot, guys!

@ Dreadclaw69: I'll most probably use one of the models with a raised arm, and try to make it look like the troll is holding a Night Goblin by its foot and getting ready to throw it. I have some older metal fanatics that might prove helpful for that. A second troll will probably end up in my Mordheim warband. And the third one could be used as a spectator / cheerleader for my BB team -- there's just something about that vomiting head that fits right into a BB stadium...

@ Zwan1One: I have no idea, although I suspect you can only have one troll.

@ HF Izanagi: Cheers, Remi!

@ Theophony: Aww, mate, that's nice of you to say, but I wasn't using hyperbole: I am really pretty helpless when it comes to doing freehands. Those symbols you see on my team are all old Gorkamorke decals, in case you were wondering.

Especially if there is an empty barrel of Bugmans beside him, and an official that he's not happy with

Only a small update for now: I had my second game of Blood Bowl and was utterly annihilated Nevertheless, it feels like I am slowly getting to grips with the rules

Anyway, in case anyone's interested, there's more about the game and my opponent's great models on my blog . Not posting this as a link to draw you away from the board, but since many of the models are not mine, posting them on my blog only somehow seems more appropriate than simply plastering them all across the message boards.
