They're only 55 points, not 80.

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

And why the heck are people Deep Striking their terminators anyway?

Especially GK terminators. The only guys I'd consider deep striking is Mordrak.

Deep Strike has always been a mostly useless gimmick.

Deep Striking is a form of transport that provides an early turn shield from all attacks at the cost of later turn arrival with reduced mobility. Yes, there are pros and cons to Deep Striking, but it is up to the player to balance out the cons by playing up pros.

In my case, I use Mordrak and his Ghoststo transport a Libby, and that Libby keeps Mordrak and his Ghosts alive unitl both models can transport reenforcements on turn 2. Expensive, potential for a 1st turn loss, yet rewarding if played right. And it is my skills as a tactician that I'm exercising, using a one-two punch to achieve my goals of keeping my opponent away from objectives I already have control of by setting the pace of the fight to my terms. Its a dance, and I will lead.

Another way of looking at it is that Deep Striking is a tool in your toolbox ... it is only useless if you chose not to use it correctly.

Deep-striking Deathwing terminators is pretty awesome now with Vengeful Strike, especially when Belial carries a locator beacon to bring more friends along.

And Deepstriking saves having to spend a couple hundred points on a Landraider or Stormraven. which is a total of about 450 points with the terminators, if it's a 1500pt game that's about a third of your army in one coffin, I say this having more than once seen my Storm Raven get hit by a lucky snapshot, rolling a penetration and a 6 to see it falling out the sky inflicting S10 hits on the entire unit inside leaving only 1 or 2 survivors.

That's nothing to do with terminators, that's to do with making a huge mistake and putting anything in a stormraven. They're gunships, not transports.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

That is only mostly true in a Grey Knight army.

I put my Librarian and assault terminators in my Blood Angels Stormraven and it works really well most of the time.

If you're going to reserve 500pts, then I'm glad that it somehow works for you. I'd never reserve that many points.
