Personally I find that changing or adding a couple of models really changes the dynamic of games, much more than it does in
40k or fantasy. Though as an outsider I really do like the new look of WFB armies with the huge units, it's just a shame that most of the models are little more than casualty markers.
The big blocks are attractive, but Fantasy 8th ed just has too many regressive rules and spell concepts to work well. Steadfast, spells of mass instant death, random power dice, random charge distance, rampant
BSB rerolls and how weak non-warmachine shooting became really lessen the tactical implications of the game. It's why I've been looking into historicals for my rectangle battles while warmahordes usually fulfills my desire to push circles around.
