It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that. |

He didn't say hungry jacks. I'm aware of why BK doesn't exist in Australia. Automatically Appended Next Post: Coldhatred wrote:

I was never arguing with the point. Did I imply that I didn't agree? I pointed out that giving me an American-centric response annoyed me. Isn't that all that is explicitly or implicitly stated?

I agree, especially the fact it's an analogy. PnM is different when they say 'get product X' and as an Aussie we have nothing even remotely similar, but we usually make do. Especially with prices.
Anyway, OP is lucky. my nearest FLGS is 20 minutes away and is the only one within an hour of me, and I don't even live in a regional area. They're just not big business in Australia. We used to have a GW here but that closed down within the year.
Don't be such a pansy, just tell them straight up "I'm right mate, thanks". Retail salesman will breathe down your neck for a sale, just tell them if you need anything you'll come and get them politely. As for your social anxiety, get some help for that if it's such a bother being in public.

"White Dwarf?"
Now I know they have a quota to fill. But I mean, they've already got the sale. They know it's going to happen. Why do they then insist on forcing me to sit through their sales pitch?
It's like trying to sell a Volkswagen on top of the mercedes you just bought. (Comparative prices between the XV8s and the Pathfinders against white dwarf, it's probably about the same ratio.)
Yes, you implied right here that you don't agree with their sales manner. Yet that's simply retail friend, and getting mad at someone for doing their job is pretty illogical to me in that environment, that's all I'm trying to get across. Barring the American-centric rant, which happens to be his point of reference, so don't get mad when it isn't directly applicable to your point of reference.

Far be for me to extend this particularly pointless tangent but Dakka Dakka was started out of a US store and is therefore American by birthright. Credit to it for going global though. Yours is a particularly silly complaint. If none of us could etrapolate meaning and associate it against our own communities international relations would quick become meaningless.

Yeh
That is odd it never used to be even up until a few days ago. I have pm'd yak to see if he will change it for me. Trust me I am British I'm sitting here in the cold grey summer as per usual. Even with the flag on the name next to me it shouldn't matter, he knew what I was talking about and that makes the anti American jibe even worse imo.
We all have stereotypes yet there are enough cultural similarities between the English speaking world for common ground.

I normally feel a bit sorry for them - how hard is it to keep track of all the kids in the shop, sell to people, advise on painting and listen to people complaining about gw prices/workpractices?
