So... er... are we all on the same side here? Because frankly, not only do I want to keep all the current Codexes, but I actually want the Iyanden one too. In fact I'd like to see loads more, for other races... just... not more Marines.

Well, you can't play the version of Blood Angels that currently exists, with all the unique units and rules that have slowly grown to accompany them.

However, you can take assault troops and close combat equipped troops from Vanilla SM, which I would argue is enough. The only Space Marine codex that, to me, seems different enough to require its own list would be the Space Wolves. Wolf Guard leaders are quite different to Sergeants, Long Fangs and Scouts as veterans and Blood Claws as new intiates is quite different. But even then, that's about it really...

Even Chaos Marines can be represented with C:SM (I've seen people do this, in fact, to represent the fact that their legion/warband was far more disciplined than the average CSM force). But meh, do we really want to do without the codices? I'd rather just have more rather than less. The game isn't balanced anyway, adding more wouldn't unbalance it.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.
