We had a story similar to this up here. A school secretary was fired after doing a stint in the porn industry and some kids actually learning about it. I think she made bank suing the school, and is now a full-time ''actress''.

I'd google it up if I wasn't currently on a work computer

I remember that there was a teacher in England that was caught doing something similar, he was a porn star called Johnny Anglais. I think he was fired for breaking the rule that said no contact with students via social media as he'd set up a few false accounts.

Firing teachers because of a past in porn that the kids will discover is bonkers. The kid comes in and talks about something he's not legally allowed to look at and we blame the teacher?

If a kid is distracted by the world outside the window, we don't fire the window, we move the kid to the other side of the room.

Of course!! After all, it is easier than actual parenting

I love the idea of firing a window. This is the best thing I've read all day.

Its because ordinance is still a word.
However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.

The centre of a massive brood chamber, heaving and pulsating.

So, a teacher worked as a stripper during the holidays.

I don't see what the problem is.

I don't think many of the people who fired her would have been complaining if their teachers had been strippers.

Bottom line is that if kids are distracted by a teacher's summer job enough that it is actually interfering with education, then we should suspend them for harassing faculty.

But then why did they pay out?

Even if it's not the case, it does make them look guilty.

There are more than a few cases where it's cheaper to pay someone, even if they've been rightfully fired than go to trial.. If she had a good case, she could have pursued it and made a lot more than she did.
At this distance, it's hard to say, but isn't there some kind of morality clause in a teacher contract?

I imagine that would depend on the school. By default I'd say that no, at least I've never heard of them.

Just did a search and came up with this interesting article on teachers and morals clauses:
