I have been in email contact Breotan. Apparently they are snowed under with orders, but they did start shipping on the 5th. When I contacted them they said that my order was due to do out tommorow as " You paid for faster postage, not processing. We can only process orders so fast. " That seems fair enough, but given that I doubted I would get my order by Christmas I have cancelled and am getting a refund, it was all dealt with very well by someone called Nathan. For a small(ish) company although I was not best pleased with the delay all of my email queries/issues were dealt with swiftly and professionally. Am just going to hold on for the full on retail release now.

Nathan (presumably THE Nathan who co-created the company) answered my livid emails as well and said the same.
Problem is, don't force me to spend $17 on shipping, for an expedited shipping option, and then hang up my order in processing for TEN days.
I already grit my teeth paying MSRP for the stuff when I could get it nearly anywhere for 30% or more off, but then paying twice what others charge for shipping... which isn't even actually getting my order to me more quickly.... that just sucks.
I LOVE Malifaux, but a better run company would've refunded us all $10 automatically, on principle.

They said up front (IIRC in bold red) that there's a black friday shipping delay, pretty sure you even need to check a box acknowledging it at some point. It sucks that they charge that much for shipping, but it's not like they don't tell you about the delay. I think they're run fine.
Because of the shipping speed and cost, though, I hardly ever buy direct unless it's exclusives.

This. While you may not like the fact they don't have a horde of underlings doing all the packing for them, at least they tell you upfront that speedy delivery is not the same as speedy processing.

I was aware of the delay, I ordered on the 28/29th november knowing that orders were not going to be picked before december 5th. But to not have your order even sent out 8 days after that, with 30 bucks shipping, is a bit off IMO.
I am not angry about it as it was dealt with really well, but either I did not notice the processing/delivery difference or it was not sign posted well enough before I ordered.

Frankly, I consider the shipping price the price for free LE models...

Same problem here, ordered on the 30th, and from the 5th December shipping start date - nothing yet - my order has not been shipped either - I guess 11 days is quite enough time for shipping !

True on the LE models. The check box was about understanding that orders would not be shipped until 5th December at the earliest, not stating that your order may still not be sent out up to 2 weeks (perhaps longer?) after that date. For those wanting their orders for Christmas (and with the associated loss of postage days over the holiday/new year) that is an issue.
But if Wyrd is anything like my place of work there is too much stuff to do and not nearly enough people to do it.

Having received my order, I got round to building it. I'd like to say that whilst pleased with the end result, whoever designed the Nino and Enslaved Nephilim models can rot in the lowest pit of hell. There's simply no need for that kind of awkwardness.

I assume they have like 3x the number of parts you expected and a few are tiny?

Ugh, Riflemen flashbacks. Doubly so that unlike many of their sets, the box I got had neither letters nor an instruction sheet, so eventually I just started cutting bits from sprues and dry fitting bits together to see what made sense and/or fit the pictures on the box, and even with that there were a few that didn't make much sense until the end.
Miss Terious wasn't a problem, the Pathfinder and traps were okay (though some bits were indeed quite small), and McCabe's crew wasn't a huge ordeal, but the Riflemen were vastly more difficult than they really needed to be.
Someone from Wyrd mentioned on the forums that some of those issues were based on letting the factory just design the bits for their convenience, rather than the convenience of the people building them, which would be attended to, but if there are still some issues with tiny/fiddly bits, perhaps that's an ongoing thing.

For the record, the only seriously silly parts in the McMourning kit is the zombie chihuahua- it's the tiniest four part model I've ever seen: the whole thing is about the size of a power fist, yet they decided to make a leg and the tail separate components..
