Thanks! I guess what I like really shows: I love playing with color and composition, but find getting perfectly smooth models loses a bit of its character and usually isn't worth the effort. I do actually like the result detail work, my own and others', but I tend to get bored during the execution

After a long delay, a few more unusual survivors, since orange light isn't the only way to do things (notes)

Hehe, thanks

Thanks! Yeah, I really enjoy when I can get those unnatural lights to really pop.

Started another core set, starting with the survivors and first 3 baddies (notes)

Thanks!

aku, yeah, I feel like a lot of the KD models don't really capture the dynamism of their rules. I've already done a lot of cutting on my Manhunter and Spidicules...

Also, a scenario I put together:

Some more info on the scenario, and a less-compressed version of its image

And the shot I used above, in full:

Thanks! Yeah, the spidicules armor is one of my favorite styles; too bad it isn't the best in-game.

I hope you enjoy the scenario! Nothing revolutionary, but I think it's pretty fun.

My take on the Manhunter, from a Malifaux model (notes)

Also, some more KD minis, and some fun with photoshop:

Pretty happy with a different take on OSL with the Lion Knight (notes)

Also, more like what I tend to do here, some Lion-armored Survivors:

A few new pieces after another bit of a gap (notes and WIPs)

Playing around with a bleaker look (notes)

aku/Inevitable, thanks, I find them pretty nicely mellow, too- I've tried similar effects to exaggerate OSL or as the base for sharper highlights, but rarely as subdued as these.

Da Boss, yeah, I'd been playing with similar effects on Malifaux models since there's so often a horror element to the setting, but KD felt nearly custom-designed for my painting styles since light and dark are such a heavy part of the setting and often each model. Thanks!

In the same vein, but more stylized (notes)

Next up, the Watcher and GSK. Also, I played around with some rules for representing the Twilight Witch (link)

Anticipating the Abyssal Woods, I worked on making a thematic set of the existing content from the core expansions. (Notes)

These guys were a long time coming, but I've finally updated my Screaming Antelope set. Pretty damn pleased with a few of them. (Notes and WIPs on my blog.)

Thanks! Yeah, I've really enjoyed playing with pinks. (I think the only color like that that I'm still messing with is purple, which doesn't turn out quite where I want it... maybe I'll try more of a dark/blacklight to it next time?)

I've never had the patience to do a full step-by-step of it, but I discuss a lot of the principles here: http://spiralingcadaver.blogspot.com/2016/01/like-laws-and-sausages-atmospheric-osl.html

First new KD guys in a while: my take on the Messenger of Courage (i.e. their obvious Link homage) and Zelda...ish.

Thanks!

aku-chan, yeah, I agree: Link is a pretty heavy conversion from a few multipose kits so I both had more flexibility and confidence modifying him than Zelda, who's only lightly modified from a monopose and pricier one...
