Marbo doesn't always charge into Tau gunlines, but when he does he likes to do it on top of a Mawloc.

I had that shirtless cyborg-dude with a massive chaostar scar tattoo on his right shoulder from the DV chaos cultists lot singled out as Marbo for my ever-WIP traitor guard army. At first I thought of converting him, but given he's not in the box of five Chaos Cultists, I took it was a limited edition mini we probably won't be seeing again, so I decided to leave it as is. Besides, he already looks appropiately Marbo-esque.

Alas, poor Marbo, we knew him well...

I don't have any pics, but my Marbo was/is based on Mantic's Ranger models, so flak armoured and with a full-visor helmet. He's got a huge knife and a shortened Lasgun. His armour was done as a steath type scheme, black washed with green ink for a night-ops feel.

Best Marbo story: Dropping in an killing a Crisis Commander and full squad of suits. Kill the Warlord, First Blood, 2 KP and 400+ points dead. Return on investment? Hell yeah.

There was also a game where I was 2 down on KP when Marbo came in. He somehow survived shooting from the remnants of a Dark Reaper squad (3 6+ cover saves!) after lobbing his demo, and had I remembered he had meltabombs, could have scored me another KP. As it was, I charged the Farseer and got a shuiriken through the head for his trouble.

I hope he comes back as a formation. That'd let my Orks field one without the bother of an allied IG detachment - cuz Marbo is the only umie tough enough to hang with da boyz

I think they had that already. Last Chancers or some gak.

I'd add in a special rule, "any unit may split fire against this army, but a) must declare all shooting from a squad before rolling dice and b) fires snapshots if they wish to do this"

That said it's far more fun to make your own Marbo counts as...

I too will miss the "Marlboro Man" as my local players called him.

I have a custom Steel Legion variant of Marbo with a huge honkin knife and gun with a gas mask, and I will sincerely miss the hilarity of him popping up behind enemy lines to either kill himself, or survive 3 rounds of frustrated fire by going to ground in walled terrain.

RIP Marbo

Last night I finally got round to converting my own Marbo having meant to make him weeks ago. He may not be in the codex any more but what's to stop me using his rules from the old codex? I can't imagine any reasonable player would object to me fielding a model that more often that not will drop his demo charge on his foot.

So many cool Marbo Models. A nice ending thread for him I think.

Marbo's just waiting in reserves, not just any reserves, but meta-reserves.

He's only waiting because he wants to see the Chaos gods' reaction to the Emperor's reserve dice roll, but they're stalling as long as possible. Because they know what happens.

If he is still on the GW web store, I am hoping this means a Catachan supplement codex. That would be so nice.
