I read the rules for the bullgryns in the white dwarf, and dont know exactly how accurate they are. But from what i saw they can make a real nasty unit. a 10 man squad of them (I know I know over 450 points) has 30 t5 wounds with 3+ armor, or 30 wounds with 4+ 5++, or a mix of both. I dont know a whole lot about ig special characters but im sure theres some nasty ones that could increase that units effectiveness, and if not could allie in some space marine ones. maybe a space marine chapter master to tank that S10. to expensive?

You don't need a special character for the bullgryns. A single priest increases their killing power considerably, granting them rerolls to hit and wound.

Yeah 25pts to make a unit fearless and reroll hits on the charge is kind of mental. Makes blobs very intimidating to charge and very difficult to shift off objectives.

I've heard conflicting reports that Rough Riders have been improved slightly, that they've stayed the same, and that they've been reverted to how they were two books ago. Naturally the reporting is spotty since it's never been a terribly popular unit. I already know how the hunting lance works so now I'm just wondering about the unit options. Are they still required to come with lances, and what is the grenade situation?

They are identical as they were in the last codex minus they've printed that the hunting lance is +2 that was in the FAQ.

Oh and they lost Mogul Kamir, so lost access to rage, fearless, and furious charge.
