Reece sold you guys out and told us you were plotting against us here.  It makes me happy that one of you had a hard time with our teenager.  That was probably Wesley (Ultramarines).  We teach 'em to build brutal lists here!

I'm not sure what Tad is bringing...  Due to Dave and I both bringing deep striking armies (and Darrian's daemon bomb) you can bet that there will be at least 1 Inquisitor with Mystics.

Dave is using the Chosen of Ahriman (who get to teleport with Rubric Signed marine units like Necrons).  It's a Chapter Approved unit which the organizer has OK'd, so be prepared.

Geoff Zatkin will be playing Speed Freeks or Sisters, depending on his mood.

Patrick Bracken will undoubtedly bring his Tau.  He's playing bugs in our Cityfight league, so he'll need the change of long range firepower.

For the record, I'm not bored with my Chaos.  I'm just excited about this guard list that I just built:

Imperial Guard 2000 points

Doctrines
Cameoline (on all squads except the last chancers)
Drop Troops
Special Weapon Squads
Heavy Weapon Platoons

One of these days I may have to meet up with some of you at the LA Battle Bunker. I live in Corona, closer to Adventurer's Guild of Riverside and GMI Games, and not too far from The Realm, but maybe I can swing a game with someone at the LA HQ one of these days. Would be cool to get stomped by new people!

@Grimteef Why don't you drop by Strategicon (Saturday Sept 2), many of the LA players will be there and I am sure that a whole bunch of the San Diego crew will be in attendance also. The guy (Cliff) who owns Game Empire in San Diego is running the RTT for the convention, so the SD guys have to show up to support him.

Cliff asked me to run the RTT on 9/2.  If you guys have any rules questions, please drop me a line.

My roomie and I will probably be out at the con. Not sure if we will be in the tournie or not but we'll be around for some other late night 40k playing. I'll be sporting my crazy *donkey* city terrain so if anyone wants to get some cities of death going on, just come by and say hi and we can play.

Grimteef: Hey, the Realm!  That's where I play on Wednesday nites!  Do you show up regularly?  I've been over to the Adventurer's Guild a few times too.

Darrian: Man, there's a lot of tournies taking place these days.  Game Empire stuff this weekend and next weekend, the Las Vegas one in September and the super-comp GT in November.

Me, stir up rivalry? never!

hahah, no i just have to support my buddies from SD. I am sure you guys will all have a good time, I just wish i could go.

And Shane, Joel told me that your new IG army is just brutal, you have been stompin on everyone with it! Too bad you showed up on saturday instead of sunday, you could have gotten some good practice against my marines.

And the timing of these RTT's has been crappy for my schedule, sept 1 and 2 i will be in SD saying good bye to one of my best friends who is moving to DC. I just seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time for RTT's this summer.

Shane, you guys should come up one of these weekends to check it out and play at the bunker.

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

I have never been impressed by the quality of opponents at the bunker at any given day.

It is best to invite some players to come down (or drive up) and meet for some games.

But we are getting into an interesting area here. We could have a dakka-dakka RTT at the bunker and have everyone who is intersted sign up and meet each other, and play for the title of the SoCal Dakkadakka champ. Perhaps blow the dust off of Yakface and get him to play.

The other thing we can do is have a day of Los Angeles vs. San Diego gaming.

I would be very happy to participate in such an event. I have the highest regard for the San Diego players and would relish the oppurtunity to play against them in such an event.

Maybe we could make some sort of friendly wager on such an event?

It is always nice to see the LA guys down in SD. I'll be bringing my Sisters.

Take the best lists you can think of because down in San Diego we know how to bring the pain (kidding ).

Hey, that would be great! Some of the SD guys were talking about a battle between the league champs for a SoCal over all league champ, but an RTT between counties would probably be more fun and conveniant for everyone. If you guys want to organize an event I am down to help, maybe we can even schedule it on a day that i can go! (my schedule this summer stinks)

I think that would be a great idea, and the Bunker is a good spot to host it up north, lots of game room. Perhaps even make it an annual event, with bragging rights on the line, alternating between SD and LA for hosting?

Maybe I am getting ahead of myself, but i think that would be good fun, and we could post the results on the cyber cathedral and here on Dakkadakka. See who the champ is and which team comes out on top? Good fun.

Although i like the idea of a Dakka/LA/OC RTT, I'm not too fond of the battle bunker as a venue. I have been there a number of times and have the same opinion of it as Blackmoor.

the only reason i mention it is because there is so much room, with really nice tables, and it would be free. However, im sure that if we pooled our resoures, we could come up with something else if it was more agreeable to the group.

If you provide your own judges and schedule in advance the bunker can be better. Just make sure they are willing to reserve enough tables and open up early for you. Schedule way in advance and give them a statement about what to say when people call and ask what is going on.
Most important, MAKE SURE YOU BRING PEOPLE TO JUDGE. Dont let the redshirts do it for you.

Question.  What is the "super-comp GT in November"???

Well, the only logical judge that I am sure, no one would ever have a problem with is our very own John "Yakface" Regul.  Yakface, would you do it?

I have no problem playing at the Bunker.

The super-comp event is the 2 day RTT in Sacramento "Capitol Punishment" The comp rules can be found in the Dakka discussions section, I think. It was roundly flamed for effectiveness.

If effective you mean " Everyone is screwed except marines" then yes, you are correct.

@Reecius: If Cliff can get the new store he has planned up and running, I would really prefer to play there. I'll talk to him about it when i see him at Strategicon as i have an idea for an RTT.

@bahkara
I dont know the timeline he has for that store opening, but it would be great if he could get id going. I love Game Empire in SD, it is big and has a really great enviornment, except for sundays when they have the kids pokeman tournaments, but i guess even they deserve a place to have fun.

I'll PM the SD guys and have them ask CLiff if it will be open in time. But that is a good idea.
