Subject: Good Movies Youd've Never Seen if They Weren't on Netflix
Primer; got recommended it by a friend and watched it on a whim on Netflix. It's brilliant, but utterly confusing, and the time-travel mechanics will break your head.
Twas made on a budget of $7000, and involves engineers and scientists talking like they actually would.
I have seen and second all of the following
Dale and Tucker Vs. Evil
Red Vs. Blue
Goon
John dies at the End
Trollhunter
and would like to ad
Defendor
Defendor is a dark comedy with Woody Harrellson playing a big hearted crime fighting vigilante. He's somewhere between Captain America and Batman, operating on a construction workers salary.

At once a gruesome brutal look into ritual honor suicide, and also a touching family story...Awesome movie...at least four stars IMO
My ex-gf got me to watch this film. Absolutely superb.
I don't know if it's on Netflix (I don't has Netflix) but check out Zatoichi (the remake from the mid-2000s). It's a pretty fun movie, though I don't know how it compares to the original films from way back when. Also, I don't think it's on Netflix, but if you can find a VHS copy of one of them, check out any one of the Lone Wolf and Cub movies. Over the top, exploitation Samurai films from the late 70s. I've seen four of them, but the only title I remember is "Baby Carraige at the River Styx".
Emperor's Eagles (undergoing Chapter reorganization)
Caledonian 95th (undergoing regimental reorganization)
Thousands Sons (undergoing Warband re--- wait, are any of my 40K armies playable?)

Dale and Tucker
Europa Report
Hara Kiri (the one on Netflix is actually a remake of a movie I saw in a Japanese history course in college, don't remember the original too well, but think I like the remake more).
Primer (pretty sure that was because of netflix)
I'd add
The People Vs. George Lucas
The Thing
The Road (pretty sure I first encountered that on Netflix)

I will add a warning to this movie: it is not a "fun" post-apocalypse. It is bleak and terrifying and very, very depressing. Also a very, very good movie.
Netflix's own series, House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, are very good. Their re-telling of Dusk Til Dawn is less so.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil is absolute quality. For me though it's 'Dog House'. A stupid movie with Danny Dyer about a small village that turns its female inhabitants into slavering, flesh eating Zombies... Through infected soap powder.
NSFW
Oh, and House Of Cards is a remake of a 70's(?) British thriller

After watching the trailer , yoututbe recommended the full movie
Supernatural, the TV show. I know, I know - but I'd never even seen a blip of an episode. Now my daughter and I are eagerly awaiting the Season 9 drop. Also Arrow and Archer. Which I used to confuse, but no longer. And Sherlock. And Continuum (Season 3 just dropped!), and Eureka. Apparently not watching cable TV except for sports hinders your viewing of good shows, but its so hard to find the good ones in all the muck.
Some movies:
Bounty Killer - surprisingly good and fun post-apoc campy movie. Kill Bill-ish, but took itself less seriously.
Columbus Circle - tight (and short - the lost art of a 90 minute movie) thriller with a really solid cast and very smart writing
Page Eight - British spies, similar to Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy - but with Bill Nighy in usual excellent form
Wild Target - Another Bill Nighy movie, also with a brilliant Martin Freeman, pretty quirky but really fun

Although I bought the blu ray the day it came out, I love that movie. Book is even better. My son loves watching it with me. He's always like " we'd carry the fire dad" I'll agree with other posters about dale and tucker. I only watched it because the dude from dodgeball was in it. Even got my in-laws to watch it. Also liked Downfall, Dead Snow & Rampage. Then for TV shows Archer, Dexter and Breaking Bad. I started Orange is the new black thinking it was a comedy... I want to pick up watching it again, but I'vebeen wworking crazy hours at work.

Could not agree more about the road. It is one of the few movies that just generally made me super depressed after watching.
I'd also like to add
Transcendent man - not on netflix anymore but a great movie about futurist Ray Kurzweil.
And the minutemen - documentary on the band "minutemen" amazing watch if your into punk.

I read the book and didn't watch the movie. All I can say is.... OVER RATED.
Perhaps I'm just too jaded, but the levels of human depravity we can sink too, especially in a survival situation; is not shocking or bleak to me. Instead it makes a certain sort of cold remorseless logic. After all, our base need is survival.
I got to watch the Yojimbo and Sanjuro. The final duel in Sanjuro is amazing and incredibly fast. I had to rewatch it about 5 times to even figure out what the move actually was.

Jebus. For me to watch episodes on Hulu I need to log into my service provider. Which I did. Comes to find out I cannot watch the episodes on Hulu unless I pay for an upgrade to another box ($99) and pay an additional $10 month a year for the service......
