Last Remaining Whole C'Tan

I didn't know what Gold Class was, so I googled it.
Man, I wish we had that here. I'd gladly pay $25 a ticket for that. Although waiter service during the movie might kind of suck.
The US has something similar called the Alamo Drafthouse, which is unfortunately only in a few locations across the country.
The other factor in ticket prices is that we don't always roll forever alone: I don't go to the movies with my wife, so I rarely see a movie without it coming out to at least $30. I don't care, I'd go every week if there was something worth it, and sometimes have when there was a glut of good movies.

I think my issue with the whole "We only use ten percent of our brain." myth - and thus with Lucy - is that people believe it. No one thinks Guardians of the Galaxy or Starwars is hard hitting non fiction - but people out there actually buy this garbage.
So every time something like this is trotted out, it reminds me that people are willing to go with "What they feel is true" in the face of all science and logic.

Done it once, it's almost worth it to do it all the time for the huge seats, lack of annoying children and people who shut the feth up during a movie. When you pay extra to see the same movie as everyone else you get people who are there to watch the damn movie.

In retrospect only being able to come up with 3 good roles in a career spanning 20 years is sort of making me reconsider my defense.
And the one she was in with Bill Murrary
I really didn't like lucy at all...

We have an Alamo Drafthouse ten minutes from where I work. I frequently go there with my coworker. They make home-style popcorn, unlimited soft drinks, and ticket prices aren't terrible either (around $15). And they serve alcohol! Damn good theater.

I can't speak for every Gold Class, but everyone I've been to had really good service. You book all your food and drinks before the movie, and what time you want it and then they just bring it in as you go. So on that level it works pretty well. The issue is that on top of the ticket you're also paying a pretty inflated price for fairly basic food, but not so much that you don't mind paying it every so often.
I originally wrote the idea off because it just seemed like the laziest way possible to upgrade a date when you couldn't think of anything more to do than go to a movie. After a few years of marriage the part I like the most is that it's the laziest way of upgrading a date when you can't of anything more to do than go to a movie

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something. |

Which is surprising, cause usually when a movie is really bad they just chuck in as much nudity as they can. That's how I knew Flight was going to be dreadful in the first few minutes
